I wish I could write one magic word that would help you feel better but I cant. So instead I will tell you about myself:
I LOVE FOOD. I eat for depression, happiness, fun, sadness, etc. Food is awesome and I enjoy it. How do you go on a diet when you love food so much? How do you find ways to feel better when you feel so guilty after scarfing down a candy bar?
There was a time in my life when I was at such an all time low, I gained a lot of weight…it was terrible. The temporary satisfaction you get from having junk food feels so worth it when you’re in the moment. But it really isnt.
Remember one thing: sadness comes and goes in a flash…but that weight…sweetie it aint goin anywhere anytime soon so please think before you reach for that slice of cake.
Working out is what you need to bring yourself out of your depressive and sad state of mind.
“The psychological benefits of exercise work in many ways, but the first and most obvious is the way in which exercise causes the immediate release of hormones. Specifically training causes the release of endorphins which are feel good hormones that leave you feeling calm, energised and optimistic. It is endorphins that are responsible for the so called ‘runners high’ and also one of the reasons that exercise can be addictive as you try and recreate this high. Endorphins block the feelings of pain and create feelings of euphoria by attaching to receptors on the outer surfaces of brain cells. The receptors that are responsive to endorphins are actually the same as those for many recreational drugs making endorphins the brain’s very own marijuana meaning the psychological benefits of exercise are the same but without the negative side effects such as marijuana and brain damage.”
As for dieting:
Throughout my years of yo-yo dieting I have figured out something: deprivation is not the key to a healthy lifestyle. Please dont think eating less will help you lose weight, it will actually end up gaining you weight.
Change the things you eat: find healthy things you enjoy eating. You dont HAVE to eat unbearable salads everyday. You can eat healthy and enjoy it also.
Thanks for the sweetest reply EVER. I agree with you whenever I exercise I feel so good but due to univ I only manage going to gym 3-4 days but From March onwards I will start with swimmin and it makes me feel wonderful.
U always have the most amazing replies, i read at other threads as well.
Thats what I did actually, I starved myself with a weird diet and gained bck the weight. I m tryin to cut short my diet and add up healthy food. and once a weel I treat myself with something nice.
I admire that you took out time to reply! thanks a lot lot!
