Depression?

Re: Depression?

Yes, it's the tail end of it. This period lasts for some while. Since it's characteristics are very similar to depression, uninformed people often mistake it for that. Luckily, it's not.
Let's assume you enjoy dancing. Now, during depression, you'd feel sad and teary-eyed and not be able to pull yourself together enough to go out and bust some moves. However, during this numbness period, you wont feel sadness or hopelessness. Instead, you won't feel the sheer motivation to get up and go out to dance. Since in both cases you're not going out and dancing, people think the reasons are the same when they're actually different.

The time frame this will continue is different with everyone. You will feel loss of interest in things you once enjoyed but you won't have extreme feelings of sadness or anxiety.
Things might make you laugh or even crack up, but once you stop, you probably forget why you even bothered wasting energy on breaking a smile.
Your thoughts are all in a haze. The most significant idea about numbness is just that. You are numb towards the things around you and nothing seems to be able to snap you out of it.

Soon it will pass. However, sometimes, not always, this can be followed by random outbursts of anger. If you see that change, you will be the tail end of numbness.

Take some herbal meds for this. They're available over the counter and are very effective. If later, you do get outbursts of anger and you feel overwhelmed, get some help. Talk to a trusted friend or a therapist.
