second time around...how soon did you ladies start preparing for delivery (as in getting hospital bag ready, scheduling leave from work, washing/reorganizing crib and other items to be used with second baby, etc)? for those of you who had normal deliveries...did you deliver earlier than your first child? was your labor shorter?
i delivered my first on her due date, alhamdulillah. but this time around i just feel 'bigger' and as if i may deliver sooner (don't know why i feel that way!). i am 32 weeks alhamdulillah and still have to schedule work leave and sort through all the items i have purchased and plan on reusing with baby#2 but have been putting it off because i still have 8 weeks :/. any tips or suggestions? moving around and bending is really tough now too!

for me the hospital provided everything ... literally everything ... down to slippers n disposable toothbrush/toothpaste. all i needed was an outfit to come home in for myself and for baby. so packing a bag was more of a formality ...
also for most ppl ... hospitals are within or near big cities and home ... so i guess ive never understood the big fuss over packing a bag? ... since everything u need can be bought nearby or someone can run home n get it for you.
i understand the need for ppl in small towns/remote regions traveling to a farther off hospital to deliver .... but really outside of hollywood depiction of a panicking dad and forgotten bag .... most dont need it.
^ true. i don't think i really need to pack much besides take home outfit for baby and myself, some snacks/refreshments and maybe my comfy slippers/robe. also thinking of purchasing the Bellefit girdle and debating on whether i should do it or not...and take it with me to the hospital :). i purchased the Belly Bandit last time around and did use it (a few days PP), although it wasn't that helpful as it would roll up.
My baby came early and thank God I had packed my bag. That was pretty much all I had. We were planning to go shopping the day she arrived. My husband had to run around buying things. I would pack well In advance and sort everything no later than 36 weeks
I packed at 32weeks with my first and used all the stuff as hospital doesnt provide much in middle east.....will definitely pack this time too and will also take my homecoming outfit and some makeup....
I still have to buy some stuff for baby e.g bodysuits , bedsets for crib, towels and blankets etc so I think will wash and arrange all the stuff (and pack gor hospital)before 36weeks IA.....
^ same here! i think i'm good with buying everything i need, but just have to find the himmat and time to wash and sort through all the stuff to prepare for baby iA :).
At around which week you had delivered your second baby? Was it earlier than the first baby?
Did you try the same old methods to go into labor like eating something or walking etc
36 weeks now alhamdulillah...so i just packed my hospital bag for second baby (yoga pants and tshirt to come home in, maternity tank and breast pads, chapstick, deodorant, facewash, hair pins and bands, toothbrush/paste and coming home outfit for baby). anything you ladies think i missed? i will be delivering in the US.
i don't feel "ready ready" yet, but i think i lost my mucus plug a few days ago and since yesterday it seems baby has dropped now mashallah. wondering how long i will last now...
