I have got a fair idea but Two guys said Tharki CAN be used positively and its only our mentality that makes the term good or bad :)

dictionary meaning is Shauqeen and every one agrees to that but when used as Punjab slang then it's not a good word at all.
example i am thinking about is another word which is too stupid to quote here but in Karachi meaning of that word is Bonga but Punjab mein ksi ko kah do to gaali ban jata hay.
Punjabi zuban zinda baad :)

Punjabi term we use for Pyaz (Onion) is Ganda. I might be wrong but once i was stopped by some one to use this word. I dont know exactly why he stopped me but perhas this one has also got some wrong meaning. Same applies to Punjabi word for Chick Peas.

I was so unaware of all these ^ 
Once i used a term on GS and got a PM from Mod that the term has been replaced , though i used that in a totally different context having different meaning, as Urdu/English words may have 10s of meanings 
Its all our perception and how we take things

let me give you an easy example to add more to you knowlege (waisay gunnah bara hona hay k kuri ko punjabi mein galat galat batain sikha raha hu)
Punjabi for Shorba is Shora and that is also a gali. Matlab mujhay pata nahi but koi bohat bari gali hay :)

It's hard to define but batiya ya dikhaiya ja sakta hai ke Sannan aur IS os ki zinda mislaian hain aur Wleedbhk & Sarmad waghhyrahu Murda misalain:p
