It's complicated. The outfit had been selected already (dark green with peacock shade accents) and a set was selected to match. Turns out there is a jahez outfit in very similar colors, so we aren't sure if this will be the valima outfit anymore. The bride still really likes this, so Ammi will still make this suit, but wants to make one additional option for the valima.
Ammi wants to use burnt orange in the shirt. Not a rust shade, an orange that is softer and leans toward peach. The dupatta could match that or be another soft shade that works. We're not sure about the gharara yet. Not sure if we should make it match the set (sapphire and emerald) or not. Ammi likes the soft green or a shocking pink or a deep purple to go with the burnt orange.
Ammi loved that Nilofer Shahid outfit that Rabia wore and was considering basing something on that, but the colors might be too similar to what is already in the bari. Ammi also loved that bunto with the peachy orange shirt and the dark pink/purple shades in the gharara that I quoted earlier.
So nothing fixed yet, except the burnt orange. I appreciate all the help! Let me know if you have any recommendations!
well, the good news is that the shade of orange you’re referring to would go amazingly well with both a sapphire color or an emerald coloured gharara, or even both with one being more dominant and the other being the piping colour.
or something like this image below would look lovely too…
or, how about that peach and green on the previous page that i commented on - long peach shirt with the very fresh green crinkled jamavar gharara? thats a gorgeous colour combination and very unusual too.
i can’t recall the Bunto you’re talking about though… hrm, but i know the nilofer shahid you’re referring to. its an extremely regal jora. its the same one in the Grace Ormonde link i posted in my blog and those three colours work so well together.
The concern with the other combos is that she has a lot of green now. I suggested sapphire to Ammi which I think would look gorgeous, but she doesn’t seem to be able to visualize it looking sufficiently bridal. Haven’t been able to find an example.
Hm, I feel like with the third color, the blue doesn't work. Maybe if it is darker, and more of the gharara is in blue and the third color is just piping or absent it would be better. But this does give me some ideas. Thanks so much, SGC!
^ no probs! and yeah, i agree with you. the blue is standing out way too much right now with the other three colors being more or less shades of each other and gold. maybe the bottom should be sapphire…
^ brings back memories!
i SOOO wanted that first outfit for my wedding but then my colour scheme changed for the wedding, and in the end, i settled on copying the pattern of the lehengs on that last outfit! :)
