things that will impact the couple's life directly should be made together, things like who's gonna file the taxes/do the grocery can go to whoever's best at it.

On a serious note, I think it’s best to make big decisions together. Small small ones like buying dinner sets and curtains and comforters and sheets and rugs and table runners don’t need the spouse’s approval

As you can see by the above example, women should not be running anything really. All real decisions are made by the man and his family. The women is later informed of what she needs to do :D
