Re: Darra largely cleared of militants; arms seized
Salute to these brave soldiers that were killed in cold blood by these Taliban animals. How Islamic is this murder of captured soldiers?
Pakistan soldiers’ bodies found
The Dara Adam Khel area has seen recent heavy fighting
Troops in Pakistan have discovered the bodies of at least 13 soldiers in North-West Frontier Province on the Afghan border.
The area has been the centre of recent clashes between the army and militants.
A source in a military hospital where the bodies were taken told the BBC they were at least two days old.
The area is a hotbed of Taleban militancy, and has seen growing violence directed at the Pakistani government and its forces.
Bullet-riddled
Pakistan army spokesman Maj Gen Athar Abbas said the bodies were found on a mountain in the Dara Adam Khel tribal region.
He said that the men were kidnapped by pro-Taleban militants during fighting on Wednesday, and that their bullet-riddled bodies were later found by members of a local tribal council.
On Sunday, Pakistani security forces said they had recaptured an important road tunnel in the area which was seized by pro-Taleban militants the previous week.
Pakistani troops launched an operation to reclaim it on Friday. The military said as many as 70 militants died in the assault. In holding the tunnel, the militants blocked the government’s main route between Peshawar and the volatile Afghan border area.
