Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

i think mushy’z angerzai might be better than his urdu :cb:

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

and :hehe: @ “tum mujhey miss call dai daina”

guys we are getting a little hard on commentators here. Catching sentences like “no player in the gap” is a little to harsh on them when we in our normal life use these kinds of sentences without out any consideration examples being

“cut piece ka tukra khareeda hai”

“bohat baree blunder ho gaee”

“ghaltee sai mistake ho gaee”

“tum loog car main jaoo hum paidal walk ker k aatey hain”

“hamara cargo SeaSHIP sai aa raha hai”

etc

having said that, I totally agree that Zaheer, Mush, Srinath, Sidhu, Madan etc are totally crap and should not sit in the box!

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

but then we in our normal lives also don’t try to sit in a commentary box

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

but then commentators are also normal people and I am sure whatever profession were are in, we are not perfect (although I am also sure we are not as horrible as likes of Zaherer, Mush, Madan and Srinath etc ) :)

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

I do not agree with you on Sidhu.

He might be (un)popular for his cheesy one-liners....but the man is very articulate in both English and Hindi...and extremely well read too.

You will never catch him gasping for words.

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

I don't know about others but to me its more about the "Information" they are providing and not the "English" they are using (although it does matter too)

For example I'ld rather get the useful/interesting information in a bit shaky English instead of stating the obvious in a articulated English.

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

DC you have to above normal when you are in a profession. There must be a difference between normal and a professional.

Imagine a doctor improperly treating people and than giving excuse that listen folks I am just like you and can commit mistakes just like you all. In my opinion it is not a good enough reason. We call them quacks and not doctors.

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

^Actually...Sidhu's analytical skills isn't bad....there is/was a program on Indian TV (I forget the title)...where he and Jadeja gave their opinions on various cricket related issues. Sidhu made a lot of sense almost always...of course his comments were always laced with his one-liners and shero-shayari.

Sidhu is like Himesh Reshmaayiya.....Most people secretly love Reshmayiya's songs...but they don't want to be caught appreciating him ("nasal" and all !!). Something to do with intellectual snobbery (if there is such a word !).

I digress....

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

If people of Pakistan ask nice, may be we can loan Sivaramakrishnan for a few days. Unlike most others he can actually speak English

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

hahahaha another gem by Zaheer on similar lines in third one dayer. Devilliers edged Afridi for four through slips region

"That was a good placement because there was no fielder" LMAO!

and another one.

"That was a very good shot by dilviers.. err deeeliveries. pauses chuckles oh I am sorry its really difficult for me to pronounce this name"

Get out Zaheer before you are fired!

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

hahaha.......it's almost the equivalent of saying in hockey

achchi try D mein......agar goal post thora bayein taraf hota to goal ho jata!!

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

You can mail your feelings regarding Zaheer Abbas to ten sports: [email protected]

Seriuosly they need to get hold of decent commentators. Dean Jones should not be exiled forever. He already has suffered enough.

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

At least he has now “improved” his “good fielding!” comment to “very fantastic fielding!” :smack:

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

i watched these in my office, couldnt keep from laughing out loud several times.

hilarious thread overall :hehe:

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

:rotfl: Thanks for sharing! :biggthumb

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

don’t know if I posted that earlier or not but this one from Zaheer was also hilarious during the 1st Test (yes back then I was finding it funny not knowing that it will soon become a torturous ride)

“Pakistan really have to play well if they want to play well”

:smack:

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

Every night when I go to bed after hearing the 3 legends, I must say it is hard for me to sleep, you know like as if I am not at all sleepy buttttaaaaa I could tell I daafinnately need to sleep.

So just like Mushy and Zaheer I tell myself something very obvious. If I close my eyes I will go to sleep.

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

indeed, I actually removed his name after typing it since I wasn't sure if he was a Pakistani citizen :)

Re: Darkest day in the history of Pakistan commentary

When I first saw the Thread Title - "Darkest day in the history of...", I had not heard the commentary of Zaheer/Mushy and I thought the title was a bit of stretch.

But after listening to the duo, I think the title is very appropriate. I mean, such commentary has the ability to derange the collective intellect of cricket loving public. Their ability to mentally incapacitate should be used in torture chambers....:)

sun rarely shines in pak… :stuck_out_tongue: :halo:
