I used to have dark elbows and scrubbed away for years and years to no avail. Eventually I became so fed up I went to the doctors and he said I had a skin problem called psorasis. If the above remedies do not work, then do go and see a doctor or a dermatologist, to rule this out. It is easily treated with topical creams.
