i think its VERY important that a child get one on one with both parents .. thats ONE thing i love bout denmark.. u will see dads in parks with their babies.. no moms in sight.. when i was new here i thought.. aww must be divorced.. or widowed.. then i realized the danes think it a big deal that a child be close to both parents.. there is no daddy goes to work and mom raises the child alone..
even at work.. dads can get a 6 month paternity leave.. its THAT big a deal.
our son is only 9 months but his dad has been actively participating since day 1... they go out together.. attend dates with other dads.. and just bond... without having me around ...
its great. a son or a daughter needs to know their dad is there for them without thinking of them as just someone who provides money and food and shelter.. they need to knwo this guy called dad has more to offer.
