i think in the old days a lot of the actresses from hollywood fell into the curvy/hour glass category

like marilyn manroe and possibly elizabeth taylor

Women come in all shapes and sizes.

For every Marilyn and Taylor, you also had equally popular actresses like Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Katherine Hepburn etc.

As with old school Hollywood, it had lot to with the way women dressed and carried themselves than every woman having the exactly the ‘same’ body type.
