Cultural Differences

Re: Cultural Differences

You can't compare Pakistan with Japan, Pakistan since 1947 faced many intl and internal issues.

It took years and years for Japan to overcome its shortcomings and become the world's third largest economic power by nominal GDP. Japan has got immense support from the western world and is not under constant scrutiny as Pakistan.

Pakistan ik mezloom mulk hai ! constantly under intl and internal pressures! We get leaders who dont walk the talk, life in pakistan is a constant battle ... Yes there is corruption there is selfishness!
but it would be extremely unfair to blame pakistani ppl as basically no pakistani would want to live a corrupt or selfish life but they are somehow forced to do so...do you know that if someones life is in danger even lying to save a innocent life is not forbidden! ... it is not that black and white as you have potrayed...pakistani ppl issues are very sensitive! Yes i strongly believe that we all should fight against corruption by atleast not litterring not taking bribes not breaking the law and so on. There are people like faisal qureshi the anchor and host , Edhi the great guy! who set examples of selflessness and when I will move to Pakistan Insha ALlah I will join this battle too.

Re: Cultural Differences

Boo ****in hoo. How about you stay where you are and stop complaining. You don't have the right to complain unless you actually live here.

Re: Cultural Differences

Not to date they haven't and I live in the crappiest places in the world. You want to know a persons true character. See how they react when your office is under attack by the Taliban. That splits the men from the boys.

Like I said earlier you need to know some better people.

Re: Cultural Differences

I also left Azad Kashmir out. Generally people in Punjab, Karachi and Azad Kashmir are not as hospitable as Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I have not included Karachi as Sindh because it is a large urban area with different ethnicities. Although I think Karachites might be more honest in prices.

My statement does not mean people in Punjab are not hospitable but just less so than the other areas and this is widely accepted in Pakistan.

Interestingly foreign travellers in Pakistan state they are less likely to be ripped off, over-charged and scammed in Pakistan as compared to India. They found the people more sincere and more genuine. Tourists are a novelty in Pakistan. If they are white they get a lot of attention and respect.

Re: Cultural Differences

There is so much wrong with that paragraph I do not even know where to begin.
