ramirez, I'm sorry for your loss, however, cruise control is not to blame here, bad driving and bad judgment are. Just because one drives with cruise control doesn't mean that one doesn't pay attention to one's speed and surroundings. Being a responsible driver requires attention to detail, being alert, and planning ahead.
Cruise control is merely a tool. I could say cars in general should be banned because of how many people die in car accidents. It's ludicrous to say that cruise control is dangerous. It's like saying that the safety toggle on a handgun is dangerous because if used improperly can result in an accidental shooting.
