Re: Crouching on Toilets
Putting up a notice and illustrations on all stalls will help. Next everyone in the company gets the same info through email.

Yeah this happens.
A mate of mine works in IT and his department do enormous amounts of outsourcing from india and they have a large number of "cultural" issues.
They wouldnt have found out about the squatters but a particularly heavy set fellow shattered a toilet by squatting on it. No joke.
people have received warnings (and often let go) over;
Masturbation in the toilet (sent back next day)
Walking around barefoot in the office
Refusing to communicate with other outsourced employees (north and south hate each other and they bring class into it)
Staring at women
Body odor

Re: Crouching on Toilets
Vent for the day.
There are two ladies' rooms on our floor. Each equipped with two or more stalls. For the most part all the women that use these facilities are quite clean and tidy. They don't leave the counter-top wet. In more than 5 years I've never found the toilet seat to be dirty. There are even dispensers for antibacterial cleaning spray that you can wipe the seat with but I have rarely found the need to use them.
Recently we have been finding the toilet seat splattered with, eww...yellow-ish stains. These stains are so apparent and dirty that one doesn't even want to use the cleanser to clean the seat. We just avoid that stall and use another one.
Since we have been the same group of ladies someone actually brought up the subject in a passing discussion. She just mentioned, "I wonder what's going on with the bathroom?" This got us all thinking and we realized that a new girl has joined and her desk is right nearby the offending bathroom.
Sadly the girl is from the "far east" and more than two of us have had previous experiences where women from that part of the world tend to either lean/hover just above the toilet or even crouch on it because they don't want to "make contact". This leaves quite a mess because, let's face it, we really can't aim like the men can.
Now what to do? Do we put up a note on the back of the stall saying, "Please be considerate and clean up after yourself?"
*on a side note....this post is dedicated to TLK. :D
We have faced exactly the same situation during past few months in our office too. There was a new girl and we all knew it was her. Apart from other problem she just wouldn't also flush no matter she has done in it.
We made alot of fuss every-time the toilet was left dirty/filthy to make her indirectly get the message plus we also complained to the administration & the janitorial staff told them that it's her ......the situation is better now but we still get to see shoes marks on the toilet seat.
I don't understand how these people survive in their own homes ...not everyone is blessed with his/her own private bathroom.
and she is not even from far-east.

I was reading the post and I was like, did I hack muzna's account in my sleep .. and then I saw the last sentence :D
Re: Crouching on Toilets
Social experiments and studies done on the use of public washrooms have consistently pointed out that women's restrooms are far more dirtier and unclean than men in general as the women don't want to touch or get their hands too dirty while using public restrooms. Perfect example is this lady: trying to be all sanitary by avoiding contact and thereby creating such a nasty mess for the rest.
tell your HR you find this disturbing and that your speculation is it's her. Let HR handle the conversation and process.
Re: Crouching on Toilets
I don't know about mens rooms, but women's rooms have the potential to be far more disgusting because of 1 extra..uhm...thing..that men don't pass out.
i was in hte library today and it was the foulest smell ever....it was coming out of the bathroom and onto the main library...horrible :(
Re: Crouching on Toilets
Do the note, I think that'll solve the issue for good.
Re: Crouching on Toilets
Them Indians and their body odor. Those master baiters. And women starers. Forget North and South. You put a Shaivite and a Vaishnavite in one room - and you got a mother of all wars in your hands. Put some footwear on, I tells ya.
Re: Crouching on Toilets
Back on topic, a guppie philosopher wisely said recently "if it is yellow, let it mellow".
Re: Crouching on Toilets
Shaivite and a Vaishnavite? ![]()
PS: on topic: a note like ‘apne kiye karaye pe pani daal ke jaiye’ may help
Re: Crouching on Toilets
Shaivaite : followers of Shiva
Vaishnavite: followers of Vishnu
Talking about paani dalna, my father, few decades ago, asked the lady who came to work in our home in broken Hindi
“Paani diya kya?” After she used the facility.
Of course, his gem was " Goorkha, wo chokra KA pakhad ke idhar Lao" referring to a boy who was doing some mischief.

Re: Crouching on Toilets
If you wake up in a different stall, at a different time, could you wake up as a different person
Re: Crouching on Toilets
buy her funnel.
Monk! !
Lol
Re: Crouching on Toilets
Go to her house. Use her toilet.
Re: Crouching on Toilets
I realized that each stall already has a sign on the back of the door telling the person to clean up after themselves.
I've brought the change in the condition of the bathroom to the attention of a friend in the HR department. She's willing to take it up but I told her to wait.
I was thinking about having a strategically placed conversation about the dirty bathroom in the vicinity of the offending person's desk.....you just close enough so that she can overhear......
Re: Crouching on Toilets
^ If there are signs already in each stall, wouldn’t the next “hassle-free” way to deal with this would be to ask HR to send out an e-mail or flyer to everyone (or women only if the company/department is small enough) regarding this? This way no one is being called out. Why go through the hassle of trying to hold a converstaion near the person’s desk? ![]()
Re: Crouching on Toilets
That will only make her hover n spray even more pal.
