It seriously hurts, when you appreciate them with an open heart even when they don’t worth it just because you don’t want to make them feel bad.

People love to criticize others because of some kind of complex, superiority or inferiority or what? Or it reflects that they are egotistical prat. How to deal with such kind of friends?

There are few people who appreciate others even in close friends bcoz its only the nature who force others to appreciate or criticize. But in circle of FRIEND s you don’t need to bother about these tings as u can’t change the nature of ur friends but that man can have other qualities as well. So just bear with them. Like i rarely appreciate others but still ve friends even they are few.
When u use the terminology of friendship then you know that in every circle of friend we have one who is a punch bag and every one feels good to put some remarks on him and all enjoy but if that person say any thing rudely then others can’t enjoy and said please be patience we are only kidding.

PS. I am NOT talking about positive/ constructive criticism here that we can use to improve ourselves.

IMO, there is only one criticism which is negative/destructive criticism. The +ve one is an advise.
So your style must be like an adviser while giving +ve criticism (If your style will be like a criticizer then this will not be a +ve) :cobra:
I think above line will clear it
