i like your thread, but i think honest, well-intentioned criticism from friends is the best thing. telling it like it is isn’t valued?
however, constant picking and putting down is rude and those people can’t be called friends.
criticism from aunties is not welcome.

Criticism in the form of rude comments/tone make one feels really bad…its good if someone criticizing you for something constructive but you can easily judge the tone and style as “jitna bhe acha ho bus mujhay like nae kerna” sort of.
Yup being Aunties is a mindset

I stopped being friends with them. Not specifically for that reason but that was one of their traits.

when one cant appreciate others for something good they have…its just out of question to expect anything good at all.

Honestly i dont hv such frnds who wud criticise just for teh sake for it…never had them…
yes frnds who advise and whose advise i seek …but not the criticising kind…

Friends are treasure but i dont know why they change and start taking you as their opponents

Not necessarily. Yes I think we can cope with it to a certain degree, but you can only take so much. Like I said, if it is a consistent thing, it will eventually start to make a person feel down and, not feel good about themselves. A person should be able to enjoy life to the fullest, not doubt life. =)

Very true this actually happens and there comes the time when you start avoiding them
