Question being, what would have various leaders of the past done had they faced Gen Musharraf's problems and crisis, starting from 12 Oct 1999?
For eg:
What would have Nawaz Sharif done if,
it were he on that plane from Colombo (in Gen Pervez Musharraf's place)?
if it were he who would have been in absolute power to do anything and seek revenge after landing?
if it were he in power when Nawaz Sharif wanted to go out of Pakistan and LI to KSA?
if it were he suffering politically when Nawaz Sharif made a deal, sought permission from Pak govt in 2006 to leave KSA to go to UK for son's treatment and rejoined political game?
if it had been he who had received that fateful call from the US, Armitage and Bush after 9/11; "with us or against us"?
if it had been he being thrashed on the media liberalized by none other than himself, all the time and all sorts of attacks, insults and criticism being fired at him?
if it had been he facing opposition from women's empowerment bill by the mullahs.
if it had been he as the target of three suicide murder attempts?
if it had been he facing defiance of Pakistan and its supremacy by terrorists, tribals, militants, foreigners and tribal-feudal lords?
if it had been he facing non-cooperation, defiance by the corrupting CJ?
if it had been he facing a movement creating national unrest in the name of a movement,clearly to oust him by bad mouthing misbehaving law breaking corrupt lawyers on a self righteous mission?
if it had been he seeing soldiers killed by traitors?
if it had been he showing patience during Lal Masjid crisis?
if it had been he and his national Army being bad mouthed every day?
if it had been he as Supreme Commander of Pakistan as President, COAS and in full powers to oppress, smash, strangle, eliminate, expose, all opposition, rivals, anti-voices and various trypes of rights and freedoms that might cross his paths?
if it had been he as the grand Commando General COAS with Presidential cover and an option to cling to power, uniform, the next rank of FM, all sorts of powers and so on, yet showing self restraint and discipline...!?
Replace the name Nawaz Sharif with Benazir Bhutto, Zia-ul-Haq, Zulfiqar Bhutto, Yahya Khan, Ayub Khan, and then also with names of lesser mortals keeping in view their various traits widely known by the nation such as Shahbaz, Zardari, Aitezaz, Iftikhar Choudry, Munir, Qazi, Fazal, Imran, Altaf, Wali, Kurd, Sherry, Wajeeh, Ameen, Nisar, Jawed, Babar, Zafar, and so on and also, Hamid Mir, Talat Hussain, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shahid Masood, Mushtaq Minhas, Faeza Dawood, Asma Shirazi, Sajjad Mir, Mazhar Abbas and so on...
And then also add questions if any.
Any other leader in Musharraf's place would have executed Nawaz Sharif for trying to stop his plane (with hundreds of passengers) from landing at Karachi airport on 12 October.
