WI-BD abandoned match is a double edged sword for the Windies since they won't be able to use the Positive NRR from an abandoned match. Only matches where a RESULT has been achieved can utilize their NRR from that match.
That's bad news for the Windies and a lifeline for SA.

Even if South Africa and Windies tie for the 3rd spot (assuming that Srilanka and New Zealand having the top 2), Windies will still take the lead not because of the run rate but because of head to head competition. Again Windies still have to face Kenya and Canada, but I would like to see South Africa go through, as they are the home team and the home crowd will lose interest if they are eliminated.
I cant understand why everyone is so sure of SL going through.
I hope they lose both to SA and WI. and this way NZL SA WI will go through. Not because they are not good team but i really am fed up of them relying only on Murali only. Vaases and companies succeed against England but they have not yet performed consistently against big teams. I know people will have afew thigns to say abot this but i personally believe teams should not be one-man teams.
If it's between West Indies and South Africa...Id like the West Indies to go through.
South Africa are chokers ....they dont have what it takes to win the cup. They chose the "wqeakest" pool for South Africa but cricket is a funny game and it blew up in their face!
Personally, Ive always felt the likes of Pakistan and India have made heavy work of South Africa's limited bowling attack. They have an all out fast-medium bowling attack backed up by brilliant fielding...but their bowling does not have the penetration that Australia and Pakistan do.
Its only the poor batting line ups of our teams that make heavy work of their bowling.
At the end of the day, regardless of whether South Africa are eliminated - this is a World Cup and the interest levels will remain the same,.
