Every fking year FF open a thread abou ther zukhaam or a cough or something. Between her and Roman and their sinus and upper respitory infections…Gupshup looks like a garbage bin full of used Kleenex.

try to gurgle with hot salty water. just put 2 tea spoon salt in the water.. n do gurgles 3/4 times a day. u'll be fine :-)

oh.. that is not curable. it'll go away on its own. u can't do much about it. drink warm milk.. it kinda helps.

For a persistent chesty cough, I’m not sure if over the counter drugs would do, I get a chesty cough once every 2-3 years and over the counter drugs never help. I think you’ll have to stick to prescription drugs.
I keep having the same problem as you. People hear me coughing then tell me to gargle or take cough syrup or something and don’t seem to realise that none of that will help cos the cough is in the chest
Are you getting on with your life normally otherwise withthe cough? Back in the UK, I wasn’t allowed to go to work whenever I had that cough. I did it once, but then I gave my cough to my manager (I’m so sharing). My manager then gave the cough to his 8-month pregnant wife. After that, I was ordered to never come to the office if I was even slightly sick…
I normally have amoxillin for it, but last time I had it it was so serious that I was hacking up blood so the doc prescribed penicillin.
Aside from that, don’t ask me. I’m an IT manager, not a doctor.

since u've tried the others there is no harm in trying Triaminic Cough/Cold too.
Personally i'd just start using Johar Joshanda and then hope i have enough resistance left in my body to fight the infection on it's own..

Femme Fatale, try ACEFYL (Acefylline Piperazine) SYRUP. it always have been excellent for my cough but this time it wasnt cz my cough got too bad so.... my khala told my mom to make coal out of corns on stove and mix it with honey and let me take lick it every now and then. i refused to take that stuff after having a look at it but i was so sick of the constant cough cz of which i was unable to sleep or even talk so... i licked the stuff a couple of times. yesterday was the 5th day of this treatment and today i dont hear me coughing at all.
i mean if the above syrup doesnt treat your couhg, try this remedy i mentioned. im pretty sure you would find it good too.

Cough syrups never help me..whether they are prescribed or over the counter. For me it does go away with my mom's syrup which is honey..black pepper and ginger..
or halls strawberry vitamin candy..

coal and honey!!! Thats a first. I have had soooo much Halls over the past week and a half that I will throw up at the sight of it now. Everything I eat tastes sweet. It is so annoying. Better than have a bland taste in ur mouth but still annoying. Honey, black pepper and garlic is what my mum makes and I swallow it with a gulp of water rendering it ineffective. Ginger....hmmmm.

Just need to rest up I suppose! I too am just recovering from such a harrassing illness. The pain on the body will go insha-Allah, but the coughing (like a horse) bit is persistant. Honey and blackseed works modestly (Sunnah of the prophet pbuh).
I'll have no choice but to say "kabul" in 3 days in a horse-come frog like voice. I was a tat bit sad b4 but now I think it would be quite funny ..ehehe...coughs..fuunii.... :s

Femme i have same problem ,my doc told me that i have allergy and reflux problem, he gave me alegra D for that ,zantac for reflux,a nasal spray and antibiotics ... I am feeling much better now.Don't eat anything after 7pm and drink alot of water.

FF...i have the same problem. my cough lasts for months. I was told i have seasonal allergies that brings about asthmatic symptoms (although its not full blown asthma). Really there isnt anything they can do about it....ive tried everything. it goes and comes on its own.
Does your cough occur more during certain times of the year? or is this just the first time you've had a cough of this nature?
