Costa v/s Starbucks ..

Re: Costa v/s Starbucks ..

I'll admit I don't eat Israeli dates, the dates available in supermarkets like Sainsbury's were mostly Israeli and I never bought them. Also when you already have much better alternatives like Saudi dates why would you want to buy Israeli dates? With Starbucks I guess its got something to do with the fact that I became a customer when I wasn't aware they had Israeli links, so its harder to let go. Besides I live in Pakistan now so its not like I have it everyday, don't think I can hurt them much by boycotting. I don't think you can blame people for wanting Starbucks, their coffee comes from all over the world, sure we contribute to their profits but what the chairman does with the profit is his business. If we start investigating a lot of companies' shareholders/ceo's probably spend the profit they earned on haram or anti-Muslim activities, we can't control what they do with it.

Re: Costa v/s Starbucks ..

^Yeh - such a weak argument, you can't control what they do. But you can control what YOU do.

Don't go to Starbucks. Due to the whole Israel issue and the fact that its over hyped. Went there once many many many years ago and not been back since.

Re: Costa v/s Starbucks ..

I just think there are better ways of showing your support than boycotting. Give me an example of where boycotting ever worked. The Danish products boycott campaign, what happened to that?

Re: Costa v/s Starbucks ..

I used to be into starbucks.. then i discovered the delicious mocha that cafe nero make. However, I am currently sticking to Costa because of their delicious christmas drinks! Take caramel mocha.. caramel latte.. GINGERBREAD LATTE. yummmmmmmmmm. Conversely, I remember having a gingerbread latte from bucks once, and it made me feel sick because of the cinnamon-ness... but costas one seems to hit the spot. A bonus is those amazing tall glasses they serve it in.. makes it extra special!
