Cosmetic Surgery

Re: Cosmetic Surgery

I see no harm in CS. I did not have any CS done, but if someone wants it done - then it's their choice.

Re: Cosmetic Surgery

Everyone wants to look good and feel that they present them from the best side. I personally have no objections to CS. One of my friends had her nose done since it was really crooked and strange - she is really confident now and looks a lot better than before. My point is that not every woman get CS because she wants proposals or something. It's about feeling better about oneself and hence get to know the true potential of their personality.

Re: Cosmetic Surgery

Plus admit or not not - we live in a society were women are really judged on their looks. If you have a deformity or etc on your face shouldn't you remove it? I know that people say that you shouldn't change your looks which GOd has given you but you could turn that around and say: khuda ka shukr hai ke aaj ye wasila to hai....

Yup-face is part of ur parents..
but boobs and tummy aren’t. :chai:

Its one thing to change a real ctual deformity...but idunno.. not to bring religion into this, but I don't believe that surgery for cosmetic reasons is allowed.

Re: Cosmetic Surgery

It's such a gray area! What about eye brows? What about shaving your leg hair? What about makeup.

I mean Allah made us a certain way but there are enhancements that we make everyday to make ourselves more applealing.

I think it's your intentions - if the intentions are pure I don't think it's gunnah. (that's just me)

Re: Cosmetic Surgery

I think its ok to have a nose job if you can pay for it and if you want it, people don't need to worry about whether those people had nice noses already who didn't need to get fixed or not...if people are called judgmental about telling people their noses are big then its very judgmental to say that they had good noses before or not...You never know what's bothering who a lot of people don't just take it as being pretty but also it develops self confidence and since our desi trash is so straight up to tell people about their features without looking at their own then i guess its not their fault everyone wants to look perfect..its rare for people to be satisfied of what they already have and that to if its not perfect. When ones favorite celebrities go through the kife its ok for the fans some demented ones even try to cover it up for them because for them stars are perfect and thats how it should be so they are the only ones entitled go under the kife while if a guy/girl next door has one because of the low self confidence/ low self esteem or because the kids her age keep on dissing her because of her features its forbidden and they should be able to except things and be appreciative with what they have...i think its unfair. There are so many people who are paranoid and concious about their looks if they have a feature which is not perfect that they start isolating themselves, they are scared they might not get accepted by the people they even perform below their abilities because of all the insecurities they have, so i think its ok..i am against those who just have it done because they think that way they will get more movies and become number one.

Re: Cosmetic Surgery

I know someone who got liposuction. She was really skinny before and sorta just piled it on over some time and had a very hard time getting it off. Her self esteem suffered, she became depressed, moody, stopped wanting to go out. Lost that excitement for life. She had liposuction just on the tough areas, became more svelte, and worked out to lose the rest and she looks amazing now, even better than before. She's happier, more confident, and back to her positive old self. I say if you could afford it, why not?

I agree. The 'changing Allah's creation' doesn't really stand up on its own when u consider it's actually recommended to remove body hair and it's halal to dye ur hair any colour except black. Wearing kohl is also sunnah, isn't it,which of course makes ur eyes bigger and more beautiful than they are naturally. Also, I read somewhere that Prophet Mohammed PBUH's wives had their hair cut into a 'bob' style yet in Desi countries it's often taught that even cutting ur hair is haram as it's changing Allah's creation. A lot of this stuff we think is Islam is just culture.

Regarding cosmetic surgery itself there are different opinions, some say it is halal if it is to correct or improve a defect that bothers a person physically, emotionally or psychologically but if it is excessive than obviously not, others say it completely haram except in the case of some sort of disfigurement, burn etc. The first opinion seems quite subjective I mean what is considered excessive to one person might seem normal to another and I would say surely anyone who goes thru cosmetic surgery is seeking the improvement because it bothers them emotionally.

I approve of it, i mean whatever makes ppl happy go for it. It's their own personal business and at the end of the day they live with their outer beauty and if they feel the need to go under the knife to improve it why not.

i haven't had anything done but i too have a deviated septum due to a broken nose (apparently it was broken years back but if you are a person with chronic sinusitis then most likely you need to get an xray of your nose and that's the issue) anyhow i need to get the surgery but i'm chicken. i think i wont wake up and i scar easily so i'm afraid of that as well.

My friend got a lot done and i have to say she was a pretty girl before but she looks even more beautiful with her new nose, ass implants (yes that's right) she had some lipo done, lip injections, and got fat taken out of her jawline area.

also a ton of iranian people have nose jobs so that's common among my persian friends. however we've met a few girls that had lap band and they are skinnier than those of us thtat didn't have weight issues...sometimes i see how slim they are and think wow what a new lease on life that must have been. at the same time we all think that was the easy way out and the few persian bigger girls say they aren't jealous but you can kinda tell in a way they are but aren't willing to go to a drastic measure for it.

envy is a bad thing.

I think there are differing opinions about this. I saw an Iranian programme where Iranian/ shia imams in Iran said it was allowed

Re: Cosmetic Surgery

I don't think Allah really approves for changing what has been given to mankind.

HAHAHA! that cracked me up

Re: Cosmetic Surgery

hmmm people wear braces, that's totally cosmetic...

even if someone was borne with a deformity? I think this is waay off.....we should be grateful to God that he has blessed man with a brain so he/she can cure and help mankind

I have never heard of a nose job being done like that. When did this technoglogy come out? Is it only for minor nose jobs?

I agree

I didn't know it was common amoung persians to get nose jobs... no wonder they have such perfect noses!

Yeah, Tehran is the nose job capital of the world, one nose job for every hundred women apparently which is wayyy more than Paris, LA or London. A lot of Persian girls, in and outside Iran, get their lips done as well which I think looks stunning with their features.

Check out Claudia Lynx, the ‘Goddess of Persia’, has had work done but I think it looks great on her. In terms of looks she’s often rated up there with Aishwarya Rai and Angelina Jolie (who’ve both also had nose jobs)…

It’s only started to be done more widely within the last couple of years, here’s a video of the procedure on ‘The Tyra Show:’

Non-Surgical Nose Job On The Tyra Show By Dr. Rivkin (Made By You)

It is mostly done to fix more minor problems like a bump in the nose or a tip that droops down at the end (which of course is pretty common in desi features). It can also make a large nose seem smaller by injecting the filler in the right places. Won’t make a massive nose into a tiny one but the illusion it can create to make a large nose look smaller and more in proportion to the rest of the face is amazing imo.

There are loads of new procedures out there for people who want a change but don’t want to have surgery, u can even have bigger boobs without implants now (tho it’s usually just a cup size or slightly more and it’s not permanent), just thru injections.
