One thing not to forgotten Hareem, the mausam ! you guys are used to living in a cold country. Qatar is an exact opposite. Its going to be freaking hot almost all year long.
Villa's do have aircon but its not as convenient to keep the whole place in good temperature. neither will your kids be feeling comfortable playing outside for a long time .. Hence I would recomend that you guys go for an apartment. Apartments are easy to maintain from the Aircon perspective, buildings are secure as well , kids can play in the lobby areas in the buildings ..
Or you can take up a club membership for kids and yourself to enjoy exercise/swimming activities ..
Also Apartments in my view are alot more enjoyable living then villa's .. Villa's are hardwork to maintain !
