Common Mistakes During Ramadhan & Revision Time (merged)

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

why you are so na shukri. :halo:

I find it hard to keep all rozey of Ramzan, specially last ten. It gets so boring. And you women are given this break by God himself to re-energise your self. Also the prayers you have khuli chutti for those days and still complaining

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Exactly my question.

Besides, I would like to know if one can do ghussal while fasting? What I know is that, gargles are important in performing ghussal and you are not allowed to gargle while you are fasting. Please elaborate anyone. Thank you.
7) Some people take the opinion that if they see someone eating or drinking they should not remind the person that he/she is fasting. According to Sheikh Bin Baz (ra), this is incorrect and it is an order from Allah for us to ordain the good and forbid the evil. Thus we tell the person, because we are forbidding the evil this way.
Quite confusing. Who is Sheikh Bin Baz? A person eating during Ramadhan is doing 'evil'?

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

^ ur very well allowed to gargle when fasting, and u can take ghusul while fastnig....
if u had a wet dream during the day while fasting, wud u leave the prayers cuz someone misinformed u that u cant take ghusul (cuz u cant gargle)????

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Shaikh ib baaz (ra) was the grand mufti of saudi arabia, who passed away some years back…
he did great services for Islam…
may Allah reward him for his work…

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

It all boils down to common sense really. you don't need a grand mufti to tell you that your fast won't break if you had a wet dream at noon. Just get up, take a ghusul and you r good to go.

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

^ popular among karachi people: "common sense is no more common in common people"o.

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Loser thinking. have confidence in yourself. Allah did make us as the Best Creation.

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Common sense didn’t dictate how to pray, what to pray, when to fast, how to fast, when to break the fast, how to keep the fast, what breaks a fast, what makes a fast, what not to do in a fast and what to do in a fast e.t.c…

Sense comes from knowledge of everything…You learnt that hot things hurt so it’s common sense that you don’t put your hands in a fire…

Islam is about sense and logic however that sense and logic must not be allowed to supercede the Law…

These points are for those who wish to practice their Deen to the letter with as little mistakes as possible…Something like your teacher checking you for grammatical errors and spelling mistakes…The more there are, the more points you lose…Allah :swt:'s system works much the same way…

These rituals and practices are to make sure you stay on the safest path…Of course, ignorance can be forgiven by Allah :swt:, however, is that any justification for sloppy faith?

The rest is upto everyone to decide what they want to follow or should follow…

Why do Muslims follow Islam to the letter and to the dot? Because common sense can deviate a man far far away from Islam…

As for following what has been taught by our families, the Quran states:

**Verse 2:170
When it is said to them: “Follow what God hath revealed:” They say: “Nay! we shall follow the ways of our fathers.” What! even though their fathers Were void of wisdom and guidance? **

There is an Ayah which I cannot remember, which states there were people of the book who were on the right path…But they started doing things which were not prescribed by Allah :swt:…In their ignorance they kept doing those things which the thought would please Allah :swt: but in fact it took them out of the favour of Allah (swt) and instead earned His wrath…

(If anyone remembers that Ayah please do post it here for us all to learn)…

So, sticking as closely as possible to guidelines is best in Islam…Otherwise common sense has led many astray in the realm of religion…

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Let me give it a shot. What was meant by the statement about woman and ghusl does not mean that woman will not take ghusl at all during whole day. or It does not mean she can fast during her period.
What it means that she can start fast before ghusl, then have ghusl and the pray fajr.

Also, anyone if they had wet dream during the day, they can take ghusl and still be in fasting state. Just do not watch movies or read novels.

The Prophet (PBUH) even used to kiss his wife during fasting. (And thats all)

I think Hadeeth itself is in Bukhari. Check it out and let me know if I am wrong. But I do remember this.

Food tasting is kinda dangerous but spitting after tasting maybe OK.

Fasting is not so terrible as some have made by being too cautious, on the other hand leave anything which creates confusion despite your honest search for the answer.

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

What it means that she can start fast before ghusl, then have ghusl and the pray fajr.

You're treading dangerous territory. What is the maximum cut-off for the time she is allowed between starting her fast and performing ghusl subsequently?

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Where did cut-off time concept come from?

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

armughal, great stuff. Jazakallahu khairan for sharing.

PCG, from what I could understand, if you're certain that you're done menstruating and only have to take ghusl, then you should do sehri and make ghusl in time to pray Fajr. However, if one is still unsure or knows that she is not done menstruating then she shouldn't do sehri hoping that it'll end sometime during the day.

Lemme try and dig up some material on it, insha'Allah.

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

^ that's what I thought it was.

I would sincerely like it if people could pull out ayahs and hadith's, including the level of strenth (for hadith's) regarding the controversial points from the original post that I have pointed out. For my own edification, so that we are all following accurate information.

AQ, its a very important point. I'm amazed you don't see it.

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

You can be fasting even wtihout wudhoo. Hence, ghus'l does not seem to be a pre-requisite of fasting. But it is recommended to do ghus'l as soon as it is required to do so and must be done before praying salah.

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Sir, could you please define ghusl? I know what it means, but I'd like for you to explain it to me.

Especially what it means in the context of doing ghusl after sexual intercourse.

Thanks.

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Its few minutes difference PCG. Have Suhr, Go to shower, pray fajr…** IF** periods ended the night before. Stay ‘Pak’ all day.

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Although, there are no direct links to Quran/hadith, but see if it helps:
She was not certain that her period had ended, and she prayed and fasted

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Ok, i talked to my Mum and she actually said that i misunderstood her previously and she said that, indeed, u do only have to have “niyat” once at the start of Ramadan…and that she probably had told me to do niyat everyday but she meant “dua”…so i guess u have to make a dua everyday but not niyat, and i’m glad that i have been corrected about this…But she still tells me that the idea of tasting while cooking is allowed is totally wrong and i agree with her on that and that also vomitting breaks fast intentional or not…

Ur right and I do agree with u when u say that, ur family may not know everything about Islam and that if u can learn something that is valid then u shud accept that and tell ur family the real rules too…but everyone has their own validity, some agree on some rules and others on different rules…we indeed shud try and only follow the Quran’s teachings as best we can…

Re: Common Mistakes During Ramadhan

Yeah i think u r allowed to fast and still not pray, even though this is not good, if u can pray u shud, especially in Ramadan…some ppl do fast everyday but are not as good with praying, but that does not stop them from fasting…and NO women in menstruation cannot fast…

I agree with Lajawab when he said that women can start their fast before ghusl, and then just do ghusl before they pray.
