Very tragic. I can't even imagine what the families of these innocent victims must be going through.
What I also find distressing is that although the army was called in after the attack, in the operation they conducted they somehow 'forgot' to check the cargo facilities and failed to help rescue the people who were trapped inside the cold storage facility. Why were they in such a hurry to leave? Is this the kind of professionalism to expect from them?
Insisting that oh it's just the responsibility of the provincial government to deal with the security situation in Sindh in these very tough times is unkind considering the fact that Sindhis have paid trough the nose to fund the Pakistan Army for decades. For 67 years, the people of Sindh have paid a major chunk of the whopping defense budgets of Pakistan. They have paid for it through their toll and sweat.
I don't think it's really that much to expect the Pakistani army and intelligence agencies to perhaps take a break from their assorted real estate and corporate priorities, not to mention other vocations like targeting journalists and shutting down TV channels, and step up their game in order to protect the people of Sindh-- as well as other parts of the country.
the officials will keep shifting blame from 1 to another, and so on, until this hype of incident dies down, then some other new 'tamasha' will occupy media. Everyone will forget these 7 dead and will move onto other new stuff.
Did anything ever happen and anyone ever got punished for crimes? Look at air blue crash, bhoja air crash, all the recent terrorist attacks, nobody ever resigns from these officials, its always business as usual for them.
all we know is, people of pak cannot trust their officials or govt for any help, they're not important. If it had been family members of the leaders there then there would have been swift action.....after this incident i have lost all hope. I doubt if this is even a country, sirf loagon ka hujoom reh gya hai, har koi apnay matlab ke peechay laga hai, fouj bhi aur baqi loag bhi
how the eff does the army clear the airport without checking on the area where these people had taken refuge ?? How could they be so incompetent and so stupid?
What you heard was the story from the broadcast ‘media’.
"The three-member committee headed by Air Commodore Noor Elahi Bajwa,
The committee learnt initially from the media that death of those people occurred after the 24 hours of the incident, even it was said that deaths were occurred after 1600 hours next day (10-06-14). The committee examined the evidences and called the doctors from Jinnah Hospital where the post mortems were carried out.
Committee also called up the families of the victims, interviewed them and asked about the phone calls and it was confirmed from all the evidences like phone records obtained through Citizens’ Police Liaison Committee of relatives/families.
Doctors, post mortem reports also confirm that last death was occurred before 0200 hours on 09-06-2014."
