I was hoping for a better beat for the Bohemian song but they made it the classic lounge-y ambient which Rohail Hyatt is known for. They should have went in another direction, no?

I know no one watches PTV anymore but there have been much better renditions of Kamlee recently specially one by Dr. Masooma on the musical programme they film around Yousaf Salli's haveli. I'm sorry but Hadiqa was godawful which is a pity considering how powerful the kalam is!

I am big fan of Hadiqa's voice and I think she did a great job singing Kamlee. But I am not a big fan of this arrangement. A bit over the top for my taste. I think it took a lot away from the amazing lyrics.

Forgot to mention Humayoon Khan. I love love love the original so hearing this cover was a little weird but I think I will love it eventually :D

Masooma is amazing singer. I loved her rendering Kalam e Iqbal ‘Tujhe Yaad kia nahin hai’.. Hadeeqa was bearable with Bulleh Shah’s Kalam, but Atif Aslam 
I think he is on mission to destroy original tracks. First it was Mai nu main kinnu aakhan and now this

One of the best coke studio episodes EVER.
Charkha Naulakha, I hate Atif but he was decent, Qayaas and Umair Jaswal…simply AWESOME. The way the infused the Led Zeppelin Kashmir riff in there was brilliant.
Kamlee, epic win by Hadiqa Kiani! The lyrics are so amazing, and I think Hadiqa Kiani does full justice to them.
Larsha Pekhawar Ta, I don’t know the language but the song’s stuck in my head!
And finally Paisay da Nasha, I’m running out of superlatives! The Viccaji sisters are <3.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE when singers move away from their comfort zones and experiment!
Symt-I liked their sound, but awful lyrics. Tum Kaho tu asmaan se taaray tor laon? Really? This is not the 90s anymore. NEXT!
Bohemia- Honestly, nothing new. I can understand people might like it since it might be something new for them, but if one has already heard of him then it's the same old. I would've liked if he had sung some Punjabi kalaam along with his song.
Hamayoon Khan- I really really liked it. I had no clue what he is singing; but it just makes me happy. The rubab is soooo soothing. I am glad they added it into the song. It makes the song sound more authentic.
Hadiqa Kiani- Honestly, I was not looking forward to her at all, but man was I surprised. My first sentence stands true here! This was my favorite performance of the season. Heck, it was one of my favorite performances coming out of Coke Studio. Everything about this performance was fantastic, from the song choices to her pronunciation! Ni mai Kamleeeee ni kamleeeee.
The only negative point I must add is not regarding her performance, but the camera work. Most of the song was showing the side of her face and that too the shaky camera was moving in and out.
Atif and Qayaas- Atif was fantasic, but I can't say the same about Qayaas. I didn't like Qayaas's lead singer in this episode (Umair I believe is his name). He seemed like he was putting an effort into the songs, whereas Atif was singing effortlessly. At one point I couldn't even understand Umair and his screaming. They should've given Atif a solo performance for this episode or had some folk singer with him. I just couldn't connect with Qayaas. =(
Okay, I think I know why I didn't like Umair. It was his pronunciation of Punjabi. It just didn't flow right.
Anyhow, back to the performance....The best part was obviously towards the end when Nolakha started. LOVE. It was AH-MAZING!
Maybe CS needs to bring in some male backup singers. That would be interesting.
The first episode of the season was superb.. waaay better than last year's CS. I can't wait for the rest!

^It's good. I love Atif's voice but once again I think the arrangement is awful. The drums are totally unnecessary and sound like unwanted noise. They take away from the lyrics, and give the song a weird, superficial vibe.

I am OBSESSED. Everything up there, I agree with (minus that Atif wasn't good). So happy they have Fareed Ayaz and Abu Muhammad back! They are just superb, Kangana last season was one of my favorites.
