Look at the groove that I pointed out with a red arrow. push your fingers inside that groove at location 1 and 2 (more towards the side, not towards the front of the stove) and try to lift it up like you open a suitcase. Just try it a little at first, then remove all the cooktop grills and what not before opening the top
