Re: CJ Restoration could be "the biggest let-down in history"?
It's almost hilarious to see the nawaz leaguers refer to musharraf and altaf as greatest criminals of pakistan, but forget about those leaders who supervised the extermination of 3 million humans or gave birth to jihadi terrorism (abba of nawaz leaguers).
Re: CJ Restoration could be "the biggest let-down in history"?
^ because Nawaz supporters are not old enough, to remember the bond between Zia and Nawaz. Its surprisingly how Nawaz is able to project him as pro-democracy or anti-Marshal law. He was a regular at Zia's Mazar in Islamabad. I don't know if he still goes there.
How can the CJ pursue corruption cases against the whole political/military mafia who have ruined for 60 years?
There will be no one left. In my opinion they should all be brought to account - Zardari, Mush, Altaf Bhai, Nawaz, Maulana Fazul Rehmand and any one else.
There wont be any politcians left in Pakistan if the CJ handles things fairly and without bias.

So why are you so worried then? Lets see some chitrool soon, starting with the ones that are still alive under the new independent judiciary. And contrary to what you've said, there's plenty of politicians that have not even seen a shred of power yet.
MQM/PPP must be peeing in their pants now that the CJ is back :) Payback.
CJ is goingto take on all the corrupt politicians? The guy wont last long. Theres too many family connections, "powerful" people involved. Im not talking about the public faces but the ones hidden.
Its good in theory but lets face it the judicial system is as corrupt as everything else. What about those thousands of pakistani child prisoners? Those innocently jailed for adultery?
Im sure the CJ has family in powerful positions, within the army, bureacracy - will he be going after those?
Im in favour of change and its about time law breakers from those priviliged backgrounds were taught a lesson but this is more than a fantasy of prosecuting Zardari and Musharaf but the whole lot. The only party that would be untouched most likely is PTI.
Theres a lot of hope placed on the CJ but those were the same people who have hoped on NS, BB, Mush...

joke, no need to be so pessisistic... why do you think he was illegally removed? He was gonna go after all the big magarmach log out there... since you never really supported him, you shouldnt be demanding miracles from him anyways... those of us that did, we have high hopes and i am personally hoping he gets musharraf behind the chakki.

On April 13 2005, in the "Judgment on 17th Amendment and President's Uniform Case", Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry was one of 5 Supreme Court judges who dismissed all petitions challenging President Musharraf's consistitutional amendments. In a wide ranging judgement they declared that the Legal Framework Order (LFO) instituted by General Musharraf after his suspension of the constitution, the 17th amendment which gave this constitutional backing, and the two offices bill which allowed Musharraf to retain his military uniform whilst being President were all legal. Was he wrong back then?

does this mean that CJ actually supported Musharaf in 2005?
