Re: Cinderella Man
I went into the movie with extremely high expectations, eventhough the title as Renee says in the movie was, "a little girly." Russell Crowe is an amazing actor and could easily win Best Actor for his performance. He has become very picky about what movies he has been doing lately, so you know it is going to be good.
It also seems like whatever Ron Howard touches is turning to gold right now. The fight scenes he directs are not only very pleasing, but fairly accurate, having looked at the old fight footage myself.
I don't want to spoil the movie and this it is worth going into the movie with little knowledge of James J Braddock and his career. The story of the Braddock family's poverty is heart-wrenching and the fights are Braddock's way for his family to survive. It is a movie that makes the audience feel every emotion in the spectrum. I rarely see movies multiple times, but with this gem, I'll make an exception!
p.s. Paul Giamatti is awesome. He better get Oscar nod for his supporting role.
