If you have never been to a Southern Baptist service, you have no idea the truly scary picture of Hell fire they paint for those that don't accept Christ as the son of God.
I would think for children or even adults that perhaps do not have a lot of education, that such images could scare them into switching religions.
Personally I am not sure I accept any organized religion 100%. From what I have seen they are all too one sided,in favor of the male. It is odd that also from what I have seen, religious writings are also written by males. Interesting!

As far as children are concerned, it is their parents responsibility to provide their children with enough confidence in their own faith to not be easily converted.
As for adults, some are insecure about their faith, these are the people that are looking for a faith in which they feel more secure.
They have the right to decide for themselves what faith is best for them. We should not concern ourselves with making sure they remain a member of our faith. I sometimes feel that the only reason that people concern themselves with other people being converted is because of our own ego and pride. To see someone convert is an indirect attack on our own beliefs, as though they are not worth adhering to. But if we are secure with our faith then other people converting shouldnt bother us.
