Among the many logical fallacies of the law and its implementation, another thing that seems to be lost on the idiotic powers that be is the self defeating nature of the whole thing. They dont seem to realize that by punishing one person for supposed blasphemy, you piss of a million other people who then commit even more blasphemy just for the sake of spite!! Punishing anyone for even the slightest perception of a slight against Muslims or islam only creates more hatred toward Islam and Muslims everywhere. But rampant stupidity is never logical.

This is why Rasulullah (SAW) in his wisdom didn’t put people to death for opposing him. (War is different, when cornered and no other options battle is an option, but it is something that is used as a very last resort, and it is a community decision, in today’s terms, a government decision with popular support - how many such situations are there really?).

But individuals who insulted or criticized Islam back then - they didn’t die. In fact, they were treated nicely.
