For those asking conclusive proofs from Quran regarding this issue, not everything is provided in Quran in black and white. Quran does not even tell us HOW TO OFFER PRAYERS, we learn it from Hadees and Sunnah. One needs to understand the philosophy of Quranic teachings and make our decision based on that.
It appears to me that if a couple is taking the route of medical science to have a baby, then having a baby should be their priority, not choosing the gender of baby.
