re: Chinese president cancels Pakistan trip, India visit still on
LOL people here are so naive; the Chinese Pres doesn’t give a fudge about democracy in Pakistan, they have strong ties with Pakistan(including the army) and don’t need Nawaz Shareef; I’m pretty sure somebody from the GHQ asked the President not to visit Pakistan, so they’re trying to paralyze Nawaz’s government; business between the two countries will go on but Nawaz is a non-factor, he’s being humiliated ![]()
Most people are too dumb to realize the game.

So the Canadian Killer was there to welcome the president and IK was helping him .
re: Chinese president cancels Pakistan trip, India visit still on
Before PMLN used to say that the current protests are for getting Musharraf released, now it has changed to prevent Chinese premiers visit to Pakistan. If we consider the army behind these protests does it suit them to have this visit postponed?

re: Chinese president cancels Pakistan trip, India visit still on
Right. I suppose the gov't has accomplished much since marches began due to their incompetence and dragging their feet and letting things get out of control. Pathetic. Bloody rascals could not register a proper FIR for slaughtering innocent people. Or how about the rains, CM was too busy occupied visiting GHQ to due nothing about flooded streets of lahore.
Epic Fail. The gov't could not clean up the mess internally, so its easy to blame the finger on protesters and look the other way as if they their not responsible for cancellation of foreign visits.

China k president kaun si "bachi" hai k aaj nahi phansai tu aab kabhi nahi phansey gi.
If the projects were of interests to both countries and solid ground work has already been done, these projects will go through and if it was nothing else but baloney (company ki mashoori k leye) then of course its gone. BTW, I have heard that number tossing around a lot (i.e 32 billion$), let me tell you that a lot of that was the "qarza" and nothing more. Apni agli nasloon ko mazeed qarzey k bojh taley dabaney k leyee tayyar ho jaoo.

Yeah they paid china more then they were suppose to Lol that wasn’t an accomplishment because china didn’t do it for free or something they actually took 3 times more money then they were suppose to, it’s called business!

Imran, Qadri inflict massive damage on Pakistan
Postponement of Chinese president’s visit

ISLAMABAD: Apart from the monumental damage that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s sit-ins have caused to Pakistan, its economy, politic and several other aspects, the gigantic disaster they have brought about is the postponement of the Chinese president to Pakistan.
He was going to sign several agreements worth $34 billion, which was to give a big boost to Pakistan’s economy. When hardly any country is prepared to take the risk of investing in Pakistan, China was making liberal investments, which too received a jolt by these meaningless protests. Apart from the deferment of the visit, the sit-ins sent a very negative message to the time-tested friend.
If these protests, as widely believed and alleged, were part of an international conspiracy to undercut China’s massive economic investment in Pakistan and strengthening of its strategic partnership with Islamabad, this plan fully succeeded with the postponement of the visit that rarely takes place. The two cousins deserve kudos and congratulations for this ‘achievement’. The Chinese investment was also meant for development of the economic corridor and Gwadar port that was going to serve Pakistan in the time to come.
Both Imran Khan and Dr Qadri will have to face the nation and answer questions about the havoc they have played with Pakistan especially the cancellation of the Chinese president’s visit. Their claim that the Nawaz Sharif government is responsible for the postponement was bizarre. There were no signs of remorse on their faces. Instead they preferred to be obsessed with petty theatrics that is not going to bring any political dividends for them. This is the third important visit that has been cancelled due to the situation created by the PTI and PAT. Earlier the Maldives and Sri Lankan presidents called off their trips.
Meanwhile, despite feverish attempts to break the monolithic unity of the Parliament by the scriptwriter, the legislature holds its ground as it is speaking with one voice in support of the democratic system, supremacy of Parliament and Constitution, and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
However, nobody in the Parliament was oblivious of the devious efforts by the scriptwriter. It is a good realization that not only the government but most MPs are also fully aware that the war was still on from those who want to wrap up the system as they are passionately egging on Imran Khan and Dr Qadri not to budge from their present stand and rather create an ugly scene.
On one side is the unwavering rare unanimity and consensus prevailing in the Parliament for democracy and Constitution while on the other is the frustration running high in the PTI, which is faced with fragmentation and split. A majority of Imran Khan’s lawmakers is not ready to honour his call to vacate seats of the legislatures. Additionally, the PTI chief is confronted with daily depletion of participants of the sit-in, which often sees empty chairs. If this rising disinterest continued, Imran Khan will finally be left alone there.
Never ever in Pakistan’s history the Parliament, composed of heterogeneous elements, has demonstrated such exceptional closing of ranks as it has done now. None has fallen in the trap of the scriptwriter except Imran Khan and Dr Qadri. This is what raises hopes and expectations for not only continuation of the democratic dispensation but also its strengthening and taking roots. But the MPs are vigilant about the continuing intrigues against the system.
Whether it was the Pakistan People’s Party, the Awami National Party, the Jamiat Ahle Hadit or the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q), all of its speakers tore apart the conspiracy against the Parliament and challenged the plotters. They also ridiculed the two revolutions. “Where are the peasants, labourers, clerks and artists if Qadri is leading a genuine revolution? It is like haves saying we are have-nots,” PPP Senator Raza Rabbani, who delivered a powerful speech, said.
When the notorious Article 58(2(b) existed in the Constitution, the establishment used to get rid of elected governments through presidential hammer. “Now, it is the proxy mode by bringing puppets on streets in play to dump democracy,” he said.
Rabbani correctly read the lethal attack of Dr Qadri on the PPP and its founder, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and believed that the PAT chief launched this blistering assault only after his ‘strings’ were pulled by those who were desperate to pull down the Parliament and play havoc with the Constitution.
He opined that the attack on the Parliament was meant to convey a loud and clear message that this is what “we can also do. But we tell them that all the MPs will lay down their lives but will not allow desecration of the Parliament.” Another sensible and saner voice was that of PML-Q Senator Mushahid Hussain, whose top party leadership (Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Pervez Elahi) not only stands with Qadri in demolishing the system but is more desperate to destroy everything. However, Mushahid Hussain has consciously kept himself away from this politics and had not been seen even once with Dr Qadri. He asked the speaker not to accept resignations of PTI MPs.
Mushahid Hussain asked the prime minister to shun mogul mindset and work in collaboration with all other institutions. “No martial law is being imposed,” he said and appreciated Nawaz Sharif for appointing a thoroughly professional solider as the army chief. “Raheel Sharif is a thinking general unlike most others.”
“Focus must be on delivery; give respect to Parliament; the prime minister should be more inclusive; mufti-khaki relations should be smooth and there should be close relations between them; the government is still a one-man show; no single institution can resolve problems; we have to collectively work with large-heartedness; there are now multiple power centres in Pakistan; and it is now a changed Pakistan.”
Some of Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal’s assertions aptly portrayed the prevailing situation. “Dr Qadri talks about blood in his ‘Urdu revolution’ and peace in his ‘English revolution’; and even a ‘Bucha, Sukka’ would have attracted 2 million people had he issued so many appeals as Imran Khan and Qadri have done for 20 days etc.”
The PTI chairman, whose party secured the second highest number of popular votes in the 2013 general elections, is such an ‘intelligent’ politician Pakistan has never witnessed that as part of the conspiracy against democracy and the Constitution he has chosen to stand with discredited Dr Qadri, who has no electoral standing whatsoever and doesn’t believe in the democratic system. This marks a huge fall of Imran Khan with a bang.

Chinese president cancels Pakistan trip, India visit still on - Pakistan - DAWN.COM
ISLAMABAD: Following consultations between the governments of China and Pakistan, the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the country has been cancelled in light of the ongoing protests in Islamabad led by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
“The visit stands cancelled which is most unfortunate,” Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz told the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee which met at Parliament House today.
Aziz told the committee that until yesterday (Thursday), arrangements for the Chinese president’s visit were in tact and the government of Pakistan was trying to shift some of the meetings to Lahore due to the situation in Islamabad.
Senior government sources had also earlier confirmed the cancellation a day after confusion began as to whether the Chinese president’s visit, which was scheduled from September 14-16, had been called off or delayed.
A senior official close to President Mamnoon Hussain had confirmed to Dawn that the state banquet scheduled for September 15 in honour of the Chinese president also stood cancelled.
Senior officials from both countries had met at the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Thursday where they had decided to cancel the visit after discussing all its aspects including the situation in Islamabad.
The final decision from Pakistan’s end was taken by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif after consulting his foreign policy and security advisors.
The development comes as Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri have themselves given assurances that there would be no attempt on their part to create an impediment for the Chinese president’s visit. Imran and Qadri have both paid tributes to the Chinese president and have said that China was Pakistan’s closest friend.
The Chinese president is still slated to travel later this month to India as well as Sri Lanka. This will be his first visit ever to South Asian countries after taking office as the president of China.
AP adds: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang sidestepped a question about the postponement, saying the visit hadn’t been formally announced.
The visit would’ve been Xi’s first to Pakistan, a longstanding ally, since taking office last year.
He is scheduled to visit India in late September amid warming relations between the Asian giants. India and China have largely shelved a border dispute that led to a war in 1962.
