Bao Bihari,
hmmmm from what i have read somewhere in one source, if it is a group of women praying - strictly all females, then one amongst them can give the Azaan and lead the group in prayer. i urge everyone to validate this information for themselves, do not take it at face-value because i could be wrong.
CocoNut, hmmmm. i honestly don't know how to answer that. Maybe guys are more hormonal so it's easier for us gals to not get carried away when we hear a pavarotti-sound alike...but i realize the faults within this argument.
I love my brother's voice when he says the azaan. When I was in Pak, I just did not feel the same connection when azaans were coming on one after the other. I don't know why, but I did not notice anyone stop or get up to pray. People just kept on walking and doing their normal business. It almost felt like to me that they were disrespecting the azaan (sounds weird I know)
But recently, my bro downloaded the azaan software on his PDA and it went off at fajr time and Nadia I can totally relate to your experience, it was like I was listening to it for the first time and it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard of! It just stirred something inside me and I was wide awake!
Nadia used to be one of the most prolifice writer/debator/contributor on these forums. I will be making some of her beautiful and thought provoking threads, sticky for your reading pleasure.
May Allah bless her life and grant her happiness. ameen
I miss hearing the azaan at fajar times it was so peaceful; oneazaan would start and before it ended the other one started and after the azaan i loved the naats.
