Indentations (ice-pick scars) can only be superficially improved. They will become better with time (less deep) but we are talking 10+ years depending on how deep they are. Dermarolling done by a plastic surgeon is probably your best bet but it would need to be soon after the damage.

The bacteria has damaged the tissue in that area and the collagen was unable to rebuild it. You essentially have scar tissue there now.

If you still have on going acne, Retin-A is probably your best bet.
