Re: Chav?

Check this one lads ! funnny innit ?

Re: Chav?

have a go*, see if its controversial

*unless your blaming everything on pahari speaking people (aka mirpuris)

Re: Chav?

I've had experiences like that in the videos above but how is turning into a bunch of useless thugs going to help our community or us? Instead of strenghthening our community, and improving peoples’ perception of Pakistanis we are further tarnishing it, we have to work hard to earn respect, better ourselves and be proud of who we are so that others respect us as well.

I've found Mirpuri guys to be either one extreme or the other, like that cute guy in the vid they either develop a serious inferiority complex and don't want to have anything to do with their identity (coconuts: black outside, white at heart) or they become the other extreme xenophobic bstrds who hate every white person... I have no problem when young Paki kids beat up BNP type people but when they start acting like bad boys and being rude to every other white person on the street some of who are quite pleasant and to teachers who are trying to help them, then that pisses me off, why hate the whole white community? We are just further isolating ourselves.

In the North all newcomers and minorities are hated, blacks have it bad too despite them having a Western/English culture. Even Polish people who are White immigrants have it quite bad, not as bad as our forefathers did but they still get "Polish bstrds" in places...

Northerners are paranoid about foreigners settling in their country, it's human nature, even in Pakistan some people are racist to Afghans refugees even though Afghans speak the same/similar languages as us (Dari or Pashto), they look like us, they dress like us, eat similar foods... If you think about it Whites have been quite welcoming compared to our attitudes to foreigners.

The situation is a lot better down south in London and stuff because every other person is an immigrant there.

Re: Chav?

We can either be depressed and angry and further deteriorate giving people an excuse to trash us further or we can channel our anger and better ourselves and our community.

The way our community is going our descendents will still be washing pots or stacking shelves at Asda in 50 yrs from now and getting treated like filth by everyone or sat in a corner of the Mosque listening to the glories of our golden age which will never come back… It wont be possible to act like bad boyz dealing drugs and buying flashy cars for ever you know.

I don’t care about myself personally as much as I do about my community, it’s depressing.

We are ambassadors of our nation and religion, everything we do say and act should paint a positive picture of these…

Learn from our Indian brethren, they were hated as much as us but they were clever they didn't let it get to them, now white people respect them despite not liking them, I love it when Goray at work do khushaamat of the Indians senior to them because despite our mutual differences they're fellow Desi, sure they also hate behind their backs but they know the Indians couldn't care less about their opinions because they're better off than them.

Instead of blaming outsiders and justifying the way we have turned out we need to do something constructive to help our communities and improve ourselves and get us out of the mess that we're in, scapegoating every other person for our problems (like a bunch of Afghanis) is not going to solve any problems because most our issues are internal.

I'm sorry I generalised all Mirpuris, I was angry because I care about them too. There's good MP's too like Lord Nazir Ahmed, Dr Malik and Amir Khan who is an ugly bstrd but sexy nevertheless.

Re: Chav?

you know the truth is very much on the side of mp's (mirpuris) so even after your admission of generalisation. you've still got a fair bit to go till you can correctly differentiate between what traits constitute a good or bad person or community. otherwise i like your wite ups

Re: Chav?

We can overcome all obstacles with our greater capacity to love.

Your views are very distorted. The Indians didn't keep their heads down, they went all out to fit in with white culture. The goray don't have any problem with the Indians, as they are not seen as being related to Islam. The Indians do anything possible to fit in.

I don't have anything against anyone really, but with regards to some of the comments here, if you are gay you have a cheek coming down so hard on the asian 'chavs' (most people in this country think of white kids when they use that word.)

I have grown up with Mirpuri friends who I am very close too and I do agree with one or two of your points. The majority of Mirpuri elders didn't stress the importance of education to their children. HOWEVER the overwhelming majority of Pakistanis in this country are of Mirpuri origin therefore they would obviously be over represented with regards to numbers incarcerated etc. Many of the older generation established businesses very successfully. It's just a shame that the younger generation has become so out of control but that seems to be apparent in all other disadvantaged communities in this country, such as the black youth and the white 'chavs.'

Re: Chav?

To white people in the UK everyone from South-Asia is a Paki, the only reason they use the term “Paki” instead of “Indian” is because the first and largest group of South-Asians to move to this country were Pakistanis, I’ve learnt on GS that in USA every South-Asian is an “East Indian”, even Pakistanis.

Don’t give me the Islam excuse, it’s true we’ve been hated by some since the days of the crusades in this country because they’ve been fed lies generation after generation and now through the media, but what do we do? Instead of winning them over with the beautiful akhlaaq that RasoolAllaah :saw: taught us and correcting their misunderstandings of our beautiful Deen we just further reinforce their bad opinions about us.

Muslims are to blame for ppl’s bad attitudes as well, we don’t have to give up our religion and ways to get on with others, xenpophobes will always hate us if it’s not our culture it’s our skin color but most people are just misinformed and we can show them we’re just human like them.

Traditionally this country has prided itself on being multi-cultural, we were required to integarte not assimilate like with Americans and it’s very much possible to work in harmony with the rest of society, outside our communities yet maintain our distinctiveness, just look at the Jews, some of them don’t even like stepping in the shadow of a non-Jew yet look at the way they’ve worked with the wider community and look at how succesfull and strong they’ve become..

All Muslims know is how to be lazy, moan and blame others for their problems, we Muslims are no angels neither, we do the most scummiest and shameful of things and then hope nobody raises a voice against it.. Some of us have bad hateful manners towards outsiders yet expect them to respect us, we do the stupidest things like get a job at a bar and then refuse to serve alcohol because it’s against our religion or get a job in a strip-club and then refuse to take our niqaab off because it’s against our religion (ok not literally but you get the idea)…

Sometimes all it takes is a smile or a kind deed to correct ppl’s attituides, yet what do Muslims do? Show *akarr *like they own this country, one incident which comes to mind is when one of our school teachers came to our Mosque, the bloody Imam rushed passed him to the Jamaat-Khaana without even greeting him, somebody else had to stop the Imam but instead of talking to the teacher directly he spoke through a translator, fair enough he couldn’t speak good English but he didn’t even look at our teacher straight, treated him as though he were a piece of siht, you don’t treat guests like that, this teacher was the nicest teacher at school and I’d even invited him to Islam once and he said he’d think about it, the poor guy made his own way into the Jamaat-Khaana and sat at the back whilst we prayed.. I’d never felt so ashamed of being a Muslim in my life, just imagine what his opnion about Muslims would’ve been after that.

I am not gay, I am bisexual and I can’t help my feelings. I’ve already said I’m a non-practicing bisexual because it’s against our religion, so what’s your problem? Besides my sexuality is not harming this country or our community in anyway. I don’t see how it’s got anything to do with the topic, if your intention was to bring me down then better look next time because I think it’s kind of cool to be bi and if I thought a guy hot I’d happily admit to it, don’t worry you probably don’t stand a chance.. :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Chav?

whats a jamaat khana?

Re: Chav?

Taboo talks jazz. There are some 300,000 more Indians then Pakistanis in the UK. The term "Paki" is used as its short and a simple insult, those who use it lack the mental capacity to use a longer word like "Indian".

Re: Chav?

congregation hall, prayer-area of the mosque.

Re: Chav?

Are you sure? Where did you get these stats from?

Maybe a lot of Indian nurses/doctors etc. have been hired recently by the NHS and other organisations so demographs might have changed but originally the first major group of South-Asians the Brits came in contact with was Mirpuris when Pak goverment made that water dam and sent them all here.

Re: Chav?

I am not using Islam as an excuse, nowadays the BNP (UK extreme right party) have been known to recruit Indian and black members, as they have changed their target to just Muslims. Although deep inside they still resent all races except whites, their hatred of Muslims means they are willing to recruit members of the above mentioned communities to appear non racist.

I have known of Indians who joined the BNP in my area and that proves what I was stating earlier about Indians doing anything to assimilate/fit in. I don't hate Indians I have grown up amongst them also but I know for a fact that when they mix with whites they get a kick out of the 'paki' jokes since they are to stupid to realise the whites think of them as pakis also.

On another note, I saw some ignorant young pakistani idiots doing something truly despicable today and I thought they need their legs broken. I still think though, that uneducated, poor elements of any community will be looked down on, and that's why I don't like the label 'chav.' Middle/upper class whites always have looked down on these people, just now they have a catch-all label for any kids in a tracksuit and trainers.

You have been brainwashed living in this country, believe me it is FAR from 'cool' to be bisexual. In all honesty I would rather a young relative of mine turn out a drug addict than gay or bisexual. At least at some point he or she may be able to quit drugs due to the problems and stigma they carry, but as you have just demonstrated they would never change tehir sexuality because living in the west they would have been conditioned to view homosexuality as normal.

Going off on a tangent here, but the last time I visited Pakistan I was shocked at how prevalent homosexuality/bisexuality is over there. Same thing in India as some Indian friends have informed me. Very sad.

I'll ignore your little digs at me, must try harder next time.

Re: Chav?

good on u vroom n shame on u sweet taboo u hypocrite

Re: Chav?

sweet_taboo, I didn't mean to offend you. You're right your sexuality doesn't really harm anyone else.

I didn't even know anything about you until other people brought it up.

I still disagree with most of the points you made with regards to Pakistanis following the UK Indians' example.

Re: Chav?

no, check the latest census. we are far outnumbered. you've been making statements which are inaccurate thru out this thread.
