Re: Changed Pakistan

Lots of big new shopping plaza's, all offering lots of western goods. This is especially the case in Karachi, but I am sure other big cities as well.

Re: Changed Pakistan

Don't forget Porsche. They opened up a showroom last winter.

Re: Changed Pakistan

:bummer:unfortunately, for a lot of poor people the inflation is actually worsening their lives…but i doubt gupshup memebers have really poor relatives anyway:)

Re: Changed Pakistan

silly cat, what about Dera Ghazi Khan?

Re: Changed Pakistan

^ :hehe: you are so desparate to see DGK, you should buy Google Earth and watch as much of it as you can

Re: Changed Pakistan

Will google earth (paid version) will have Dera Ghazi Khan? I will try to go should I get some time to visit the greatest place on the earth.

Re: Changed Pakistan

If Google Earth unpaid version shows it, then very likely the paid version will have LATEST pics of it.

Re: Changed Pakistan

Captain saab, I doubt they'll have pics of Dera Ghazi khan updated or even the genuine pics cuz google earth depends on the modelled pics to give the real look. Koi gal nahi, some1 will go and post the pics..

Re: Changed Pakistan

^ modelled pics? where did you get that idea from?

Re: Changed Pakistan

I have not been able to use the building/terrain (3D) with much success, but still whatever they show is based on data collected using satellites. If you wanted to look at sides of buildings/structures then I am afraid you can't, GE is best for bird's eye view.

Re: Changed Pakistan

Most of the time is static.. I think they dont update images in real-time. They model it periodically. Lot of new buildings are missing if you look at US cities. Whats GE? GE has a product too?

Re: Changed Pakistan

talking about pakistan i really dont want it to advance so much cause if it develops prices will go up and then it will be expensive for us englandis (europeans) when we trip there. i dont want it to modern neither cause that means western influence. in uk modernisation has desrtoyed the common family

Re: Changed Pakistan

hi bros i am first time writing on gupship. i dont really want pakistan to advance to a stage of modernisation cause it will bring problems to society like in the uk. prices going up will make ordnairy visiting british pakistanis shorten their holidays and becoming modern means being like the west behaving like the west. when i visit pakistan i feel relieved to get away from uk but when i see pk society wanna be like uk i get confused cause it does not suit them.

Re: Changed Pakistan

Welcome to the forum rabksaj.

Re: Changed Pakistan

After reading your comments I don’t know if I should still say Welcome to Gupshup or not

So they should cut short their modern lifestyle just to accomodate you guys :hoonh: You are better off in UK then stop visiting Pakistan. Rather than wishing Pakistan to develop and prosper you want them to stay behind. I say you renounce your relationship with Pakistan. :bash:

You are being very selfish here with these comments. If they want to get or are getting what they want then why is it a problem for you? :hoonh:

Re: Changed Pakistan

welcome rabksaj -

try to look at it as a country, not as a vacation spot. pakistan is a nation which fought and gained its independence, and they've paid a price to become a nation. now, while every nation in the world is developing and advancing in all forms, you can *not **wish for one to stay back. its true that some people in pakistan are desperately trying to imitate a western lifestyle, but u can not blame them, because for them, it is called, *being modern often used synonymously with being* being civilized*. anyhow. this modernization will soon hit home, and pakistan will also see the pros and cons of it...until then - you might find yourself more comfortable spending holidays in burma.
