Considering Ch Sarwar's vast and successful administrative experience and political practice and training - it really didn't make any sense someone like him to denounce his citizenship and take up a cushy, lifeless and powerless position of a governor from a party that stands against all Western political and social development ideas. His intentions and motives were - fairly or unfairly - questioned. People were rightly disappointed and perplexed by his choice, and those who followed his stint in PMLN, he did look so out of place and expressed his disappointment at their style of governance numerous time. So do not say that Sarwar magically had a change of character, and PTI accepted him in a heartbeat - he went through a certain process of realising his own mistake.
He is a very good administrator, and a good diplomat (refer to all round praise he got from all sections for successfully and effortlessly diffusing the tensions between Qadri and PMLN when all PMLN ministers were acting like goons).
PMLN knew he was feeling totally underutilized and bored in Governor's position, he had issues with their governance, they failed to address his concerns, and at the end, he ended up taking the job he is good at, and enjoys the most which is hands on administration and structural organisation.

If PTIians are praising him for the genuinely good work he's doing for their party and actually changing the dynamics of rural politics to make it more competitive and mainstream - what are they supposed to do - keep egging for his past affiliations? Still abuse and reject him for being a PMLNer once? Would anti PTI critics approve of such behaviour? No. So get over it.
Criticisms for sake of criticism. 90% of PTIians probably didn't even know who he was when they badmouthed him. Ch Sarwar and IK shared pretty good relations back when he was an MP in Britain, and IK still a cricketer. Same for Shaheed Col. Shuja Khanzada!
Most people don't realise that IK shares or had shared good personal relations with some of the key PMLN leaders. He still refrains from doing any character assassination of either Ch Nisar, Ayaz Sadiq (Kaira from PPP, Aitazaz Ahson, Rabbani etc etc).

His good intentions can be seen easily here, he left PMLN saying he couldn't even get his land freed from land mafia and then in PTI, he is running campaign for the top land grabber of the city....see his intentions...
