Re: Central and Provincial Govt performance rating after one year in power
There was rigging probably but PT lost fair and square. Watching TV days before the election you could see when voters were asked who they were going to vote, sher always came ahead of PTI.
Big difference in the way they would have lost in a fair election, and in the way they were made to lose through rigging. Rigging made it possible for PMLN to get a simple majority, which essentially gave them a free hand, with little to no oversight from any govt partners....nothing is ever debated in the assembly, which has made it worse. Realistically, PMLN may have been the highest seat winner, but they would have had to make a coalition govt, making it difficult for them to treat Pakistan as their kingdom. And i believe that is the exact attitude that has thrown them out of favor.
Re: Central and Provincial Govt performance rating after one year in power
sorry i added this graph later, maybe this would clear my point. dont you think if people are satisfied with PMLN, it should have been leading this graph too? Incumbency setting in so early?
Re: Central and Provincial Govt performance rating after one year in power
So average is good, it can be counted both ways. Also would like to comment on the fantastic rating your idol got personally.
it was Punjab , it is Punjab and it will be Punjab always which would be the decisive factor in Pakistani Politics .... like it or not with *65% population and NA 148 Seats *
before elections 2013 , I used to say that match is not b/w *PTI vs PML-N *, its b/w **SS of Punjab & PTI **and exactly that happened ...
ab bhi yhi hoga in Elections 2018 **,... **Punjab & SS Development projects will decide who will be in Islamabad in 2018 !
Re: Central and Provincial Govt performance rating after one year in power
Well, let me put it this way. Would you say “average” is passing grade or failing grade? And if you look at bell curve were do you think average would fall?
Re: Central and Provincial Govt performance rating after one year in power
average can be counted both ways. The govt only gets 23% for good to excellent.
I agree and to quote Mark Twain "there are lies, damned lies and statistics", but it is unrealistic to expect govt to get grades of good or excellent under the circumstances & with what is going on in Pakistan.
if you are looking at 60% positive rating they also got 76% negative ratings. plays both ways. Even though PTI lost fair and square a few seats in Lahore were rigged otherwise showbaz and no brain sharif would had their castle shaken. Khawaja saad rafique only won because of rigging. Looking at your comments you agree that it is shahbaz and not the PM who wins votes.

I live in Saad Rafique's constituency. The only evidence PTI produced for rigging were some pictures of Saad Raifique in Defense polling stations which they think was creating hindrance in voting. In the area where PTI allege rigging.. they got 90% votes. Defense and effluent localities in constituency had around 7/80000 votes where PTI won massively. I was actually there to cast my vote and saw Saad Raifique in the polling station which was massively in favor of PTI.. the polling staff was wearing PTI shirts.. and they were clearly favoring PTI. Saad Rafique was objecting to that.. I am an eye witness.
Constituency had around 300,000 votes from poor areas. My driver lives in Walton area.. he told me where he went to vote.. there were no PTI voters or supporters. If you see the detailed results of the constituency.. Walton, Nishat Colony, Chungi Amar Suddu and the other poor areas in the constituency.. PTI lost heavily.
On the eve of the election.. There was an election rally going from Defense to Liberty. You could see the families in flashy cars carrying PTI flags. There was another rally on the other side of the road coming from outside in to Defense. These were mostly Suzuki pickups with 6/7 young boys at the back.. dancing and flying PMLN flags. You could see a visible class difference between both the supporters. I am an eye witness to that also..
I don't think there was any massive rigging in this constituency. PTI lost fair and square with a huge margin in this constituency.. The pattern was exactly as I am describing. PTI votes were mostly from Defense and Cantt. PMLN votes from poor areas of the constituency..
