Looking at all the pictures (specially Lux Awards pictures), I am just wondering how do average Pakistani connect to these people? they seem to be from 'other world'.
I remember good old days (mid-late 80s, early 90s) when there was a connect b/w celebrities and average Joe. Now don't take me wrong, stars were still stars with their privileged status but we still were able to connect to them somehow with the way they dressed and they way they carried themselves.
If I look at the fashion and events now and then I lookout on the street, I hardly find any similarity in 18 crore people and these stars. This was one thing I never liked about Bollywood and now.....

stars have always been stars thats what they are suppose to be
look at this pics of nazia hassan. noone was dressing like this in pakistan in the 80s but she was still admired. we have as a society become way too critical on our celebrities. we need to start appreciating them for their pros rather than criticizing them for little things like the way they dress

Nazia was British National and she never dress like this on Pakistani media. These photos were in UK based on their culture.

well annie is british pakistani, if she wears the type of clothes that represent british culture in todays world she would be completely shunned from pakistan. everyone would be against her and criticize her.
we really need to give our celebrities some more credit. dont you think that they think its unfair that just because someone like nadia ali is an american (born to pakistanis) she can wear western dresses(very revealing ones at that) and the pakistanis that know her basically worship her. but if someone like annie wore the same thing that nadia wears then she would be called a wh0re
