Re: Casino Royale
I was disappointed with him as Bond and found a few of the scenes to be either overly brutal or overly cheesy.
It was just okay.
Re: Casino Royale
yeah i agrree
Re: Casino Royale
it was an o.k film...not as great as i was expecting from JB
Re: Casino Royale
true
Re: Casino Royale
I think that casino royal is a nice return to classic bond, and this is why it's so greate :D
Re: Casino Royale
Uhh...how can anyone hate this movie? If you wanna see senseless action with unrealistic gadgets (ala Die Another Day) then go watch any Hong-Kong film or Triple X or something. This movie was about the character James Bond and his evolution. I would have liked it even if it didn't have any action sequences (well, probably not, but still). I think people were getting so used to the same ol' crap Brosnan Bond movies that any change repels them from the franchise, no matter how good the change might be. All of Brosnan movies were almost the same, with different villians and different bond girls being the exceptions.
Re: Casino Royale
First Bond I truly didn't hate. Brosnan's bond was way over the top, all about his gadgets, his women and no real substance to his caricature of a character.
Sigh, I hope the fresh feeling doesn't end here because this installment of bond was about the start of his career as double O, when he was crude, reckless and raw. It was very cute to see a vulnerable Bond, one who lost his cool, one who actually fell in love with a woman.
And Daniel is hot. :D
Re: Casino Royale
I think its the worst bond movie I have ever seen. James Bond is sophisticated. This guy is like Taliban.
Peirce Brosnan, in my opinion, fit the bond mold the best.
That being said, I did like this quote from teh movie though. It seems to be mocking the tradition...
Bond: I need a martini
Bartender: shaken or stirred
Bond: I don't give two sihts, its just a goddaym drink.
Re: Casino Royale
He is plain ugly and did not suite the role of JB. On top of that the movie was not that great, very cheezy. I want Brosnan back ![]()
Re: Casino Royale
It is definitely intentionally mocking the tradition.
Though I think you may have misquoted slightly. Doesnât he say something like, âDoes it look like I care?â
Re: Casino Royale
How can anyone choose Brosnanâs ghey bond over this one? And this was a cruder bond because it was the start of his career. They are showing the foundation on which the bond we know( who isnât all that great btw) was built. Really, are we missing the cheesy grin or the endless string of STDs he might be contracting from shagging every woman in his path?
Me likey Bond before he turned into the ghey cheesy bond. ![]()
Re: Casino Royale
Brosnan was definitely better looking than this Bond.Although some of his bond movies toward the end were pretty ridiclous.I hope this bond brings something new.
Re: Casino Royale
100 dirhams?
thats how expensive movie tickets r in dubai?
Re: Casino Royale
Compared to the what? The previous Bond movies? Were you watching the same movie as the rest of us?
Re: Casino Royale
Finally the movie has started to be aired in cinemas all over and I took the first oppurtunity yesterday and watched it.
Movie was very gripping. It was very unique seeing the formative years of 007 when he was first promoted and was entirely believable with his impulsiveness and vulnerabilities. Second installment of this bond will continue to refine edges in his personality. Daniel Craig performed admirably and he was believable as a human being particularly at the end. Plus some of his impulsive decision making in the beginning was very fitting.
I would rate this movie 8/10 and will wait for the dvd to come out as well.
p.s Did they really have to destroy that austin martins? ![]()
Re: Casino Royale
i have to motivate myslef to see this. i dont feel like watching it cause i think daniel craig does'nt make a good bond.hes a bit too stiff.hows he gonna flirt with women.roger moore was the best.
Re: Casino Royale
it was ok..
Re: Casino Royale
flirting and chemistry between daniel craig and eva green was hillariuos. Worth a listen and a watch.
Re: Casino Royale
Though I think you may have misquoted slightly. Doesn't he say something like, "Does it look like I care?"
i think that scene was to let us know why bond (after the poisoning incident) preferred his martini stirred and not shaken (prior to which he did not care)
