One thing is that on a hot day when you need to turn AC on, instead of getting AC on, just max the fan and get it directed to the front and rear windows through the knob or wutever is given in yr car. Also make sure that the air circulator is on. It wont take more than 5 min in a small car to get cooler like AC. However SUV may take longer. Definitely save you some bucks!

I didnt quite get that. You mean, you can get your car cooled up by just having the fan on, with the circulator on as well? On a hot day, wouldnt that just pump in the hot air from outside? Confused.

Today I wanted to change spark plugs of my Murano, darn it, they have 3 plugs in front and 3 hidden in the back behind ‘intake’… now mechanics charge $300-500 just to replace spark plugs WTF is wrong with these so called car designers.

Hmmm, 04 Murano !!!
Why would you change spark-plugs in the first place ? were you diagnosed with spark-plug failures ? Usually the new types and models are fitted with high-teck S-plugs require change over 80k Service maintenance and that also with your “Tune-up” package including new wiring harness etc.
And new wiring DOES makes a huge difference you can feel !

Yeah in older cars be aware of the fuses and always keep spares in winter becuase older cars blow fuses like I blow farts ennit…

Oh and another thing if your old banger aint got a mind to start first thing like, just pop out a mallet and whack the starter motor ussually the solenoid is frozen or siezed up like.

One thing I hate about latest cars is that they are no longer designed for DIYers. There used to be a time (around 50’s and 60’s) when cars used to come with a manual on how to fix them (that includes engine), and now even to change the bulb in your car, you either need special tools or need to take it to the workshop.

It’s because of the fly by wire technology that’s getting more and more complicated as we speak.

Tips for Driving with ABS (Anti-Lock Brake Systems):

1. keep your foot on the brake. Maintain firm and continuous pressure on the brake while steering to enable four-wheel ABS to work properly. Avoid pumping the brake, even if the brake pedal is pulsating. In light trucks that are equipped with rear-wheel anti-lock brakes, however, the front wheels can still lock up the same as conventional brakes. If that happens, the driver should ease up on the brake pedal with just enough pressure to allow the front wheels to roll again so you can steer.

2.allow enough distance to stop. Follow three seconds or more behind vehicles when driving in good conditions. Allow more time if conditions are hazardous.

3. practice driving with ABS. Become accustomed to pulsations that occur in the brake pedal when ABS is activated. Empty parking lots or other open areas are excellent places to practice emergency stops.

4. know the difference between four-wheel and rear-wheel ABS. Four-wheel ABS is generally found on passenger cars and is designed to maintain steerability in emergency braking situations. Rear-wheel ABS, found exclusively on light trucks, is designed to maintain directional stability and prevent the vehicle from skidding sideways.

5. Dont drive an ABS-equipped vehicle more aggressively than vehicles without ABS. Driving around curves faster, changing lanes abruptly or performing other aggressive steering maneuvers is neither appropriate nor safe with any vehicle.

6. Dont pump the brakes. In four-wheel ABS-equipped vehicles, pumping the brake turns the system on and off. ABS pumps the brakes for you automatically, at a much faster rate, and allows better steering control.

7.Dont forget to steer. Four-wheel ABS enables drivers to steer in emergency braking situations, but the system itself does not steer.

8. Dont be alarmed by mechanical noises and/or slight pedal pulsations while applying the brake in an ABS-equipped vehicle. These conditions are normal and let the driver know ABS is working.
