well he does, only in the batting dept though. he is just about an average keeper. rashid's strong point was his keeping, n also he was a very gd captain, n had the players' respect. wat happens if inzi goes.

Frankly I think Indians will need all the help they can get. :D:

You know how visiting teams get awed at Eden Gardens? Well it's going to be twice as bad for our boys. None of them except Sachin has gone to Pakistan, and they're going to walk into an Eden garden crowd screaming 'Pakistan'.

It could just be that Inzi can make a hash of his bowling changes and succeed.:(

karina, they've handled it in australia, they will manage just fine in pakistan. looking at present forms of both teams, i see pakistan going down in both versions of the game. my prediction: ind wins tests 1-0 or 2-1. and india wins ODI 3-2. but thats just on current form. i hope by march paki team does some real soul-searching n sort there problems on the talent level and the management level. i hope chairman shehreyar khan and aamir sohail will handle things maturelyn sensibly.

Rashid was an excellent keeper and a good captain, no doubt. But he is gone, and with the current administration, I don't think he will be coming back anytime soon if coming back at all.

As of now, the choices we have for captain are Inzamam, Moin, Youhana, and Akhtar. Akhtar is pretty much out of contention due to his fitness problems. This leaves us with Inzamam, Moin and Youhana. Inzamam and Youhana seem to be the same kind of players to me. Both have laid back attitudes and are not smart in a way which a captain has to be. The only option left is Moin. Plus he seems to be in a good form with the bat and his keeping is improving by each game since his return to international cricket. Also, he motivates the players well and thats what these youngsters need. Inzamam may be a good player, but he is definetly not captain worthy. The matches Pakistan has won under him, are because they have played well as a team, and even in the matches Pakistan won, Inzamam failed to impress as a captain.

They need a month long camp and they'll be fine. They won the test series in NZ so this is just a temporary slump for them.

I think shehryar khan has more pressing commitments - like managing the tv rights and windfall. lol

Most of the matches were won due to "individual brilliance", sometimes by Razzaq, Malik, Akhtar or Sami. Small number of matches have been won due to "team efforts"... IMO

I'd stick with Inzi. With time, he will learn. I remember Imran once said that before his first game as the Captain, he couldn't even speak to his players face to face and had to ask the manager/coach or some other guy to spread his message. Inzi will go nowhere near Imran but having heard that from Imran, I have hope.

Secondly, for all of you in Pakistan, don't miss "Capital Talk" on Geo tonight at 10:30. The guests will be new PCB Chairman Shahrayar Khan, Sarfaz Nawaz with his new revelations of match fixing (as seen in program ad), Col. Naushad, and some former national selector from Karachi. They will talk at the merits of making Inzi captain. So don't miss. :biggthumb

thanx for the info :k:

Give Inzi a little more time. He's a lot to learn. He should talk to Imran Khan and get some advice. I am sure Imran can help him as he was one of the best captains Pakistan ever had.
The next series is very important PCB shouldn't take any chance now. Let's see what Inzi does.
