Can women use a crowded subway to commute?

Re: Can women use a crowded subway to commute?

As per my understanding na mahram and mahram ahkam only apply for the purposes of marital relationships as to who you can marry and who you cannot.
Then the question will arise why so. Allah and his Prophet:saw2: did not provide us any reason for these rules so I will leave it at that and will not speculate. Islam is religion of submission to will of Allah:subhanahu: on certain orders of Allah:subhanahu:
Furthermore I understand Isalam does not forbid na-mahram Muslim men and women to interact with each other in a formal way , formal settings , in public , or in a crowd.
We have many many examples where women participated in Jihads and provided much needed services.
They used to teach religion to each other.
Holy Prophet:saw2: encouraged and let Hazrat Aisah(RA) to watch acrobatics and other performances of male performers.
Na-mahram men and women used to go to haj and other expedition as a group.
These all are examples of formal settings when na-mahram men and women were present in public settings. More can be found if you dig around.
Those were the days when these were the only public forums where men and women could be present, life was not as complicated , today life is much more complicated. Na-mahram men and women can be present in a lift , in a bus , in subway , in a hospital , in schools , in doctor’s clinics how is it possible to segregate them in this day and age ? They are there to go on with their lives and take care of something which is important to them , they are not there to hug and kiss each other and have illicit relationships.
If someone wants to have illicit relationship they can do that in Masjid ka hujra or kisee buzurg ka majar too , would you stop na-mahram men and woman to go to masjid for fear of them bumping into each other and end up in bed with each other . Grow up people and live in this century . If you want to live an ancient life for that you have to go and live in a jungle, that too miles apart from each other.

Re: Can women use a crowded subway to commute?

Um, dating a hindu is alright but the subway begs the question of mehram/na mehram? Great logic.

Re: Can women use a crowded subway to commute?

Re: Can women use a crowded subway to commute?

Go away ... she said na-mahrams not non-Muslims? Quit being hypersensitive about Muslim beliefs please ... it makes it seem you are intolerant of us.

Peace Mirch bro

I agree with most of the post … apart from 2 things … I don’t believe the account of where watching the wrestling was encouraged at all … and the other point was I actually think living in the jungle will increase the chances of illicit relationships … I think this day and age actually makes getting into a random opposite gender person’s bed so difficult that in marriage there are obstructions to the nth degree. However in other cases and other settings such as nightclubs and stuff in the West it is very much like a jungle and the people who wish to have ease to jump in to another’s hammock then they might as well be living in the jungle - because they would harbour the junglee mentality. I think it is unfair to say that being sexually prudent and careful is an ancient thing … I would tend to say that it is over the top and people make issues out of minutia so on that basis I do agree … but let’s draw the correct definitions - junglees are not sexually prudent - they are the ones who are the sexually next come next servers. … Just thinking did you mean cave in mountains and not jungle?

Re: Can women use a crowded subway to commute?

Dad doesn't know about that yet ..:D

Re: Can women use a crowded subway to commute?

Yes. That is what I thought.

But OP asked question for a reason too. No answer is the best answer to them...

............and *advise them to local mullah or mufti and ask them to post what was the answer and the name who gave them the answer. * ;)
