i think u can make gud friends online....... but being is love is too...... complicated....... falling in love online is a big NO NO in my opinion
I can't see why one can't fall in love online. You could get to know someone, exchange details and then progress further i.e. meeting them. You cannot help who you fall for, it just happens. There are genuine people out there too. Not everyone person you encounter is a fraud. That would be a gross generalisation.
Obviously one would be extra cautious but even these days knowing someone on a 'first hand basis' is not enough. People you interact with in 'real' life can be frauds too you know and out to decieve you.
I agree. You may not even know people that you meet face to face. And can definitely meet genuine people online.

You can use internet/online as a means of meeting people; make it go on to the next level, ie. talking on the phone, hanging out in person etc..

Internet is more dangerous than you can imagine.
getting into a committed relationship is risky even if you knew the person all your life, you are suggesting innocent girls to find love on the internet....
right now we are all on the internet, imagine if some innocent young girl takes your advice (thinking you are a MOD, so you must know what you are talking about) and follows the steps you wisely mentioned, Allah helps that girl....
see how dangerous an internet can be....

people can most definitly fall in love online! im not talking about match making websites like shaadi or mehndi.com or anything lol..but i mean maybe you know someone in person that you're friends with and you two begin talking online. one thing could lead to another where you two realize how your personalities match and how compatible you are and you end up falling for eachother.
i think the internet is a good (not always the best) way to get to know someone.

anyway! So the girl I knew who met her husband in a chatroom had been speaking to him for over a yr. They then secretly started talking on the phone. She asked him to send a picture of himself and I don't know why he mailed it to her house instead of her email, but her dad checked the mail and found it. Haha! All hell broke loose in their household, there were a lot of fights but now they are happily married with children.

You can be attracted to someone online. Love, however, is an advanced stage. You could be attracted to one's personality but your perception could change when you actually interact with them in real life. So yeah, there is a possibility but as someone mentioned earlier, not the most prudent thing to do considering the associated risks.
