Can India match Pakistan's grace and hospitality?

Re: Can India match Pakistan's grace and hospitality?

India Fans will never be able to give our team the respect and level of hospitailty that we gave them - Their leaders like Bala Coward Thackery can make comments that pakistan is not welcome in india. Their activists digging up the pitches. Gujrat Cheif Minister will say that pakistan is not playing in a'bad because they are afraid of loosing...However, not all of indians are against it. I have seen many Indians (especially the North Indians) that give pakistani's a lot of respect and give pakis a very good level of hospitaility. Same cannot be said for people in Maharashtra, Gujrat or in Calcutta...And in regards to one of the earlier posts Indians were shown the same level of hospitality everywhere in pakistan..

Re: Can India match Pakistan's grace and hospitality?

greater hospitality will probably be seen in the north.....other places, including south india, probably categorize pakistanis with north indians....and there is mild tension between north and south indians, so perhaps hospitality may not be top notch in those places.

honestly, i wouldn't be surprised by anything on this tour...so many possibilities

Re: Can India match Pakistan's grace and hospitality?

well personally i think the indian crowd has taken a few steps in the right direction from yester years where upon defeat the opposition was booed, rocks were thrown, match stopped all that nonsense, but i seriously think the indian crowd has got much better since then. I personally watched the australian series and i know many of you would say well this is india pak who cares. Well the fact of the matter is that india was the last thing they had to conquer in this side and they did and the crowd accepted the defeat. Another example was the jubilee match. Great game the crowd loved it, india lost but there were no incidents. A lot of people left the stadium but that was by choice and its not like the pakistani crowd didnt after they lost the last game. Overall yes pakistan crowd ovation to the indian contingent was great. I would still say as much as i hope this would not happen that indian crowd would not be able to match the standard but one thing is for sure that they have come a long way from the rock throwing other slander and hope the visitors are given a warm welcome.....

only mature replies plz ....

Re: Can India match Pakistan’s grace and hospitality?

Excuse me? Every shot hit by the Pakistanis was booed to death. I even heard chants of “Pakistan Murdabad” during the jubilee game. Get your stinkin’ facts straight, buddy. Throwing stones has stopped because there is too much of a danger of getting one’s ass beaten by the Indian police these days due to strict regulations! We are talking about the general spirit shown by the crowd. Can a crowd of Indians ever cheer for the Pakistanis the way our crowd cheered for the Indians? No. Thank You.

Re: Can India match Pakistan's grace and hospitality?

no never ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Can India match Pakistan’s grace and hospitality?

nikhil25,
I had expressed similar opinions before but highlighted “punjabis” instead of north-indians in general and look at their responses.
Pakisatanis seemed to be irked about pak-is-punjab comment. bhai saab, what is wrong if pakistan is dominated by punjabis. Does not punjabis compromise 40-60% of pakisatan?(don’t know the exact %) What is wrong if they want to have closer relationship with their east-punjabi bretherns? hanji?
But to keep those anti-punjabis in good humor, I hereby, of insane mind ,change my stated position and admit that the pakisatan is not punjab. Happy?

Re: Can India match Pakistan's grace and hospitality?

^ It is not about being happy or sad about your comment. It is about being ignorant of the fact that Peshawar and Karachi crowd was equally hospitable towards Indians like Lahore crowd.

NO! Its not.

NO! It doesn’t.

Goes to show and validates the point of every Pakistani that Indian public
Is so ‘poorly’ & ‘loosely’ informed of their neighbor’s demographics.

Anyways, the i have already declared pakistan-is-not-punjab.
I am also sorry to have stated that the pakistan does not figure in the most of the india except when there is kargil or trading opportunity etc. This bhai-bhai or dushman-dushman is pretty much limited to northern part of india of which punjab may or may not be dominating part. Happy now?
The mumbai taxi walla will take a very long way to wankhede stadium , once he knows you are a pakisatani. :D. Make sure you have exact change to give him or he will reply “saab, chhuta nahi hay” and laugh all the way to nearest dhabba.

Re: Can India match Pakistan’s grace and hospitality?

And other similar posters…
What does specators, who paid heavly to see match, appreciating good performance has to do with how rest of the nation feels ? Thats what this thread is about. I love a good game of cricket and will cheer when i see aaloo run like a bhalu  but we are talking about how entire population of India will feel. Like i said ,pakistan is not the most important thing on minds of most of the indians. Sorry.
I had also posted in this thread a link stating atleast 50% of pakistan is punjabi. On the top of that punjabis control army and industry. Pak-is-punjab, ostrich or not.
Now don’t start with punjabi is a race different from sindhis and other pakisatanis.

Re: Can India match Pakistan’s grace and hospitality?

I didnt make my point clear in the first post. It is not about crowd supporting good play. It is about Indians feeling warmth and friendly vibes. Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi.
