Can a good religion be without complete set of principles

Well, I wouldn’t mention any specific religion here in order to preserve their dignity, but recently I have found some comments of people belonging to a particular religion proudly saying to a people of another religion:

“You have to follow strict rules in everything, and care about every minor thing, but we are free to do whatever we want and still God is happy with us. I can drink alcohol, enjoy my life in clubs bar with girls…etc.(JUST example)”

Just take any successful organization in the world, it can’t be possible that they are successful without any logical and strict set of rules and principles even if a lot of employees don’t like to follow them, because those rules are meant for betterment of human beings.

This sounds like Sail with the tide not against it meaning adhere to the principles of those in power. Stand for nothing and everything.
