Can a Girl/Boy Man/Woman Relation

Re: Can a Girl/Boy Man/Woman Relation

It's very much possible and depends on individuals.
I have alot of friends who are guys. Me, my brother and my sister all have mutual friends, boys and girls. Maybe that's because we all and our cousins went to the same university so we got to know alot of people through each other. Even friends who we knew from outside of school would come to our birthday parties, gatherings, etc and got to know everyone else. Most of the time, all of us- siblings, cousins, friends AND friends' siblings- hang out together. It's always the same crowd over whether it's my party, my br's or my sister's. Also, we are of different ages so some friends are older, some same age, some younger. Our parents are cool with it because most of their parents are family friends since it's a close knit desi community.
Initially my husband (before marriage) was a bit weird about it- apart from hanging out with his medicine group buddies once in a while, he doesn't like to be very social. But my friends started calling him up on his birthday (we would do conference calls), talking to him online and on phone, and pretty soon, he had become really good friends with all of them especially the guys. When he flew down here finally, all my friends came over and they met each other as if they had been friends for years. His family was so suprised that he knew everyone here already. He got a huge and a very warm welcome. Most of them are also in med school so they found a mutual thing to be excited about lol.

Even during our wedding time, I was jealous because they all turned dulhay walas despite of being my friends! We did raat jaggas (all nighters) hangin out, and even on shaadi day, they were all with me and hubby before nikkah getting everything ready for wedding. So yes, we share a good platonic relationship and even though we don't see each other all the time any more, we stay in touch. I am blessed to have such wonderful friends (both girls and guys) and glad even my hubby gets along so well with them!
