Drastic changes proposed by ANP .
ANP asked to to permit overseas Pakistanis to take part in election but the elected one should leave his/her other nationality before taking oath .

btw, Pir Pagaro is also opposing dual nationality bill :)
must PPP do everything, which violates consititution, under article 63, it clearly states that dual nationality are ineligible to hold public offices.

It was not violating constitution . If you remember ,Ghuman was allowed to take part in election and later he became a federal minister and this CJ was in SC those days . Passing a new bill is nothing bad but they are under pressure so they are not performing well .

If zardari tells them to lick his shoes, the cabinet including the Coalition partners would gladly do it without batting an eyelid. I have never seen people more beghairat than PPP, ANP and MQM., although the whole nation also more or less qualifies for almost the same level of beghairti.

Dual nationality bill seems to be revolving around rehman Malik, another amendment is on the cards putting NADRA under the interior ministry.

The sources said that Nadra is a key department, which is collaborating with the Election Commission of Pakistan for free and fair election by registering new voters and compiling computerised voters lists. Bringing a legislation with less than a year left in the general election would definitely provide space to the opposition parties to raise fingers at the credibility of not only the general election but also on Nadra.
The legislation, which is being planned, would make the head of the interior ministry automatically the Nadra chairman, the sources held.The sources said that the proposed legislation also suggests that the incumbent Nadra chairman would be made the registrar general of the authority and the entire control of transfers, postings and hiring would be in his hands.
It is worth mentioning here that WikiLeaks had disclosed that the government had offered the US all the Nadra record so that it could easily track anyone it suspected to be involved in terror-mongering. The government, as a token of thanks for aiding Pakistan, came up with the offer of transferring Nadra’s record of millions of Pakistanis to the US spy agencies. The government also suggested signing an agreement with the US to make it look legal to save itself from any embarrassment.
Moreover, Nadra is more of a brigade of retired army officers as more than 90 percent of the top management comprises retired brigadiers, colonels, majors and captains, and the incumbent Pakistan People’s Party government is continuously hiring persons who are no more useful for the military.
The only criteria to induct a person in the top management has remained the prefix behind his name and not his qualification. Seventy-five top posts in the management have been occupied by retired army officers. Sources said that Nadra is an Information Technology based organisation while it has been stuffed with people having long list of war courses in the curriculum vitae. However, now the pressure is upon the Nadra management to hire politically backed candidates.

I swear these PPP guys are doing everything possible to violate the rules, ethics and fundamental ground realities of a democracy. They are nothing more than feudal land lords trying to turn Pakistan into a backward mess.

They are not trying. They have been pretty much successful.
Of all the issues and problems facing Pakistan, the government is worried about: Dual Nationality and Contempt of Court Law.

Aitzaz Ahsan, Raza Rabbani oppose dual nationality bill in Senate
ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders and senators Aitzaz Ahsan and Raza Rabbani opposed the dual nationality amendment bill presented in the Senate on Tuesday, Express News reported.
Coalition partner Awami National Party (ANP) and opposition party Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) staged walkouts to protest against the bill.
So much opposition to this bill even within the party, yet it must become a law to appease a few.

I am sure he is "sincerely Pakistani only" but any other passports are only for lockers.

The most interesting reaction was from noora league. As usual, they bark against the bill and stage token walkouts, but made sure that their votes were counted in the favor of passing the bill. What a peak of munafiqat.
