PTI bias or not, Dawn is genuinely a rubbish newspaper, in my opinion. Their coverage of local news is nonexistent, I sometimes want to go on to their website and find out some useful updates about Lahore and annoyingly there’s nothing. If you rely on Dawn’s reporting on Lahore, you’d think the place is some desolate village not the darling, fast changing, fast moving City. It’s daily, they’d add one or two news item under each Province heading and assume the people have seen it all. The newspaper cannot seeem to look beyond its seemingly adolescent desire to shock. There is no such thing as detailed, analytical reporting on any major issues, no economic expert analysis, no rational critique of any legislation, policy or proposal, no active campaigning for any cause. You basically just go there to read some blogs by internee/freelance hippie writers who are usually quite tired of life in general.
So much pessimism, despair, cynicism, self pitting sorrow, pseudo- intellectualism you see on that website. It’s torturous.
