Iran picked ahmadinejad...they will have to face the consequences for it. Even without US pressure the right thing to do is to ostracise Iranian govt after ahmadinejad's statements abut holocaust and destroying Israel. Mani Iyer was apparently trying hard to make the pipeline deal work in spite of these factors.
If that is true, I'd say US did the right thing in pressuring India not to deal with Iran. If that meant Mani Iyer has to be dropped, so be it. By the way he has someother ministry now.
ahmadinejad's rhetoric has unimaginably strengthened dubya around the globe.
